Touhou

I'm surprised no one plays Touhou here as much as I do :s
or so I thought.

So I guess I'll pull up a topic, dragging all the touhou playas in here.


Which touhou games do you play?


I play all of the Touhou shooters/fighters/captures and some Touhou fan-made games like Megamari or IWBTSM ;D


The reason I love touhou is because of the music in general but the games are pretty nice too

Touhou is awesome, I love the characters and the music.
Bullet Hell shooters are awesome too. I just finished a flash game on Kongregate (All badges) named Bullet Heaven. Check it out if you haven't.

I used to play them all the time, then I discovered all the arcade stuff, and stopped liking touhou, haha.

Thought that I'd relink this thread even though clearly no one plays anymore

Used to play IaMP with Xiao and our little circlejerk crew in the past, but none of us really play anymore. I haven't touched IaMP since Summer 2010.

For a period of time I got a bunch of people on #kbo to play IaMP as well but that died out once I stopped playing pretty much.

played touhou 6-8 pretty heavily, a little bit of 9, and I played 10-12 less than 5 times apiece.

I just kind of keep up with the memes now, I really enjoy the obscene amount of OC.

edit: oh, i played shoot the bullet a whole ton. Never touched the fighters.

HUGE touhou fan here. My favorite games are 8 and 11 I do enjoy and play all the games though excluding the first few haha. I usually play the shmups at night time when I am just chilling at my house or if I am a passenger on a long road trip. iamp and Hisoutensoku are what I usually play with my friends though...and even in English class sometimes xDDD

I am not that good however compared to some players...hmmmm...the best I have been able to do was beat 8 and 11 on hard and also ALMOST beat Flandre on 6 hahaha she is a pretty BA extra boss.

Overall I find the series attractive for a bunch of reasons:

• The music and remixes are AWESOME
• The patterns are intricate and beautiful to look at on the shmups
• The games give me a challenge, ESPECIALLY on lunatic =P
• The characters are memorable
• The fighting games are pretty badass
• DEM FLAT CHESTS
• etc....

imo hard is harder than lunatic on imperishable night lol

I think he's referring to the Scarlet sisters and those other flat-chested ones, but you're right that Yuyuko is not *at all* flat chested LMFAO

Sadly I've started actually playing less of the games lately, just probably for 2 hours at a time before I rage quit at Orin in SA and Shou in UFO...****ing stage 5 bosses ._. :/

Though, I have introduced a few other Marines in the barracks to Touhou, as well as met some Navy guys that know about it, in which they've picked it up and a few mini tourneys of IaMP and UNL have gone on between us. That's been pretty fun =P Otherwise, I'm just collecting doujins/hentai doujins/music related to Touhou, most images of Flandre I come acrosss, and playing some of the fan games.

I love MoF's overpowered bombsave system... Technically Reimu doesn't use Spellcards but whatever.


Here are some tips after watching your vid:
Try not to bomb in parts where you can easily graze, i.e the nonspell cards and especially the beginning of the stage.
I see you move around too much on her 2nd spellcard.
When they're homing at you, start from the middle, slowly go to the left, then right (not all the way to the right because you get trapped), rinse repeat. One rotation should do just the trick. Grazing the bullets also gets you points, remember
You'll get spellcard failure if you bomb haphazardly hehe.

Your first death is pretty embarrassing IMHO, not trying to put you down but if you're feeling trapped and are forced to go towards the right, you can center yourself by moving upwards instead of backwards, going against the direction of the bullets. I find it much easier because you don't have to worry about how fast the bullet is going in comparison with your speed.
