Default PIU communities

Just wanted to pose a question regarding active PIU communities. I go on Pump Haven and PIUProPlus every once in a while but they seem very dead.

I think that PIU is a very interesting game that offers much more variety than 4 panel and I'd love to hop on board a community but it seems they don't exist anymore

PIU is a great game and honestly deserves a lot more attention. However, people don't seem to care about spending the time needed to learn the different game's mechanics/feel.

I personally love PIU and have made custom content:

Two custom charts...

PIU Fiesta UCS (this chart is so fucking over-stepped, lmfao)

likely not believable, and unfortunately I can't prove it unless I find a way to recovered long-deleted videos, but 99% of this PIU Pro 2 Routine is mine:

I've been playing a bit of Pump recently at Playdium. Unfortunately, it's only PIU Pro, so it doesn't have a lot of the songs I want (Supermaaaan). But it's still really fun, but I find that the timing window is REALLY lenient compared to DDR or ITG

Yeah, it is but it certainly makes me able to do alot more songs than I could do at my current level, and I just think PIU has the better song selection than DDR (Can't say much about ITG since you could put customs in anyways)

I do believe 1st dance album - 4th Seasonal Evolution is when the timing was really crap, lol.

PIU timing is -way- easier than any other rhythm game -- the only exception is the PIU Pro series. Even on hard difficulty in the operator menu, it's barely up to par with ITG's window tightness.

Of course, the Hard Judgment mod changes things a bit.

The best suggestion I could give is the PIU forum on bemanistyle.com

PIU is an amazing game. The songs are awesome, the step charts are awesome, and the arcade cabinets are simply beautiful. I wish the game had home releases other then Exceed. One thing I can suggest is to find an arcade where people regularly play it and get involved with them. Of course, this is easier said then done though.

Well I don't know much about PIU online communities unfortunately, but if you live in Socal there's a pretty large PIU community that goes to the arcade I go to (Round 1) on a regular basis. They've got a facebook group page but it's private, you'd have to go to round 1 for a while before they'd let you in, but even if your not a part of the facebook group you can just head over to round 1 on fridays and there's usually a ton of people playing and they're all very welcoming and really nice.

Maybe there's something like that near you if your not in socal? You could always check arcades and see if you can find a hotspot, that might be your best bet.

Also halogen I watched a couple of those charts, rockhill seemed really similar to the chart on PIU pro 2, you didn't make that did you? Sorry if that's a dumb question >.<

The routine was awesome, took a lot of cues from itg routines actually, I'd definitely believe that was yours. Looks like it'd be fun to do, do you have a link to that somewhere so I can try it?

PIU is a nice change from DDR/ITG, but I'd never play it as seriously as I have/would like to play ITG. Although over here in the UK we're sorely lacking in the 4-panel department but have recently acquired a PIU Pro 2, PIU Fiesta 2, and we'll be getting an Infinity when that becomes available. They're getting played a lot and are great fun, but if we get a decent ITG machine 90% of the players will be straight over to that >_>

The scene seems odd. I think the community on the official site seems to be okay, but since most of the scene is Korean/Mexican from my understanding it's not easy to talk to most players XD

In the UK the community either just meet at the arcades, or hijack space on DDR forums!

Yeah it's mostly Korean/Spanish...actually just mostly Spanish, since they have so many of it in South America instead of DDR :V They like to have a lot of "off-shoots" of the popular original games (ie. they are big in the King of Fighters scene which was originally based off of Street Fighter, etc)
