Thanks.
usually done with two keyboards i think, but when you hold all four keys at once to hit an insane wall of notes, or to boo out reaaally fast.

Hi there. I am new to this site and was wondering if theres anyway to change the format of the arrows in the bottom of the screen during gameplay. From (left, down, up, right) to ((left, up, down, right). Thank you very much in advance.

Not possible, sorry. That mod (left/right mod) was removed some time ago.

Wow thanks! Even though it wasn't my question, reading this helped me a lot!! I'll go change my key setup now. I was wondering how to fix that on my laptop

Why is it called spread?
Because your hands are spread away from each other^^.

But, main reason why many of us change our keysetup is to avoid any keys that won't register.
You might have to keep changing it until you find what is comfortable and, or registers all 4 keys.

Your credits should be awarded regardless of whether you play the Legacy or the Velocity engine.
Do your scores as a whole get registered? You can check your scores HERE, and also in-game; the score is registered if the game returns you a level rank*. It might be the case that some scores weren't registered for one reason or another, which also results in your credits not being awarded. If this is the case with you, PM an admin about it to try and get it fixed.

* Alternatively, the score is not registered if there is text at the bottom right stating "Auth failed" or similar - at least in the Velocity engine.

I was noticing recently there are a few people on the forums with an asterisk by their name:

HammyMcSquirrel*, Hateandhatred, Hazelle*

what does that mean? there's sometimes a + by peoples names and i think that means they're on my friends list... does that mean asterisk people are ignoring me?

* means the person is set as invisible. Veterans and mods can still see you, however. (There may be other usergroups that can. I'm not sure how they all were arranged in this area.)
+ means the person is a forum friend.

You have to find the songs from the wheel in their specific genre (not the songs list with the search option but the WHEEL) and there's a + sign next to songs.

This does not butcher your average rank in any way, because negative scores do not record.

Say I'm a minute into the song and miss or don't perfect. Then I want to restart, failing on purpose does not make my score negative. Although that is helpful, because I did not know that negative scores did not record.

That wouldn't botch your average rank. Only scores that are better than your score can lower rank. Ranks never raise on songs.

You might be talking about just average score per game, which no one measures anyway.

In that case, you could use the velocity beta engine, (link in the upper left dropdown under "FFR the Beta") where you can press '/' to restart and 'ctrl' to immediately fail out.

There is indeed a restart/quit feature in the Velocity engine. You can't do this in the old Legacy engine (in that one, you'll have to deliberately make boos/misses in order to quit). This doesn't affect your avarage rank in any way, but it does add Boos and Misses to your daily stats on your profile. :P
