Never watched the first anime, but.
This anime isn't all that good either.

First episode was illegitly out on nicovideo for a few weeks, so I took the time to watch it. The picture quality is passable (I don't like the style, but that's me. However, the inconsistency is not inconspicuous.), voice actresses are weird for some (still passable).

I just don't like the general mood of the story, and the characteristics of each Touhou character in comparison to how ZUN depicts them in Silent Sinner in Blue and such. Then again, it's just the first episode, so what more can I say? That's my first impression. I'm still definitely going to buy it lol.

In nicoranking SP4, the Flandre McDonald thing got 1st place, followed closely by the IOSYS flash for Cirno's Perfect Math Class. 4th place was Kaguya's "Yukkuri" NEET video. Touhou has been dominating nicovideo since the creation of th6.

One of the most popular Touhou doujin releases of last month was the Touhou M-1 Grand Prix the 3rd. If anyone would like to cooperate and translate it so we can get it out on youtube or something, I would be more than willing to help. Please don't mention the Ronald Flan thing. That is video is annoying as ****.

But the anime was decent, but it's really only the first episode. Although the fight was too short-lived though. I can't believe how Aya could be so likable in that anime though.

What surprised me the most is that it included english subs for the Western Community to watch. More surprisingly, KirbyM (the guy who runs Walfas) was credited for proofreading the subtitles. He did a good job to say the least.

Although I was really bothered by Sakuya's voice. She seems to soft and gentle, not the knife-wielding badass we all know and love.

The M-1 Grand Prix series were being translated by dreater on Youtube, but now that he's gone no more are being translated as of now. We need fan-subbers on it now. IIRC Crashfan subs videos as well, so we could possible ask him.

Well really have to buy the games, but doujinstyle used to be the place to download them, but turned into a forums-only site due to money and copyright problems.

Of course, I could give another way to obtain them if you like.

BTW, expect Mountain of Faith English Patch VERY SOON, like you won't even expect it!

IOSYS doesn't like that Sunflower flash going around on the internet, just saying. Copyright for that particular flash doesn't belong to IOSYS in the first place. (Deleted on nicovideo more than once for such and such violation.) I bought the flash compilation in Akihabara, Messe Sanoh. Pretty ok.

Mountain of Faith compared to other games...I'd say 7-8/10, although I say get it anyways, it's still fun.

The BG graphics are great. Much improved compared to the previous games. Only downside is some of the artwork for the characters (zombie Reimu lol).

Gameplay is still the same danmaku, but no more SC bombing, as all shooting types have the exact same bomb. Also, now your power is rated from 0.05 (I believe) to 5.00. Each bomb costs 1.00 of your power. This is where bomb-spam comes in. You can literally bomb as much as you want, provided that the enemies drop power-ups.

Music is still as awesome like always. I can't really complain much here.

Biggest complaint about this game is the two major bugs that ZUN never fixed. The MarisaB bug, and the stage 4 replay de-sync. The MarisaB bug is a bug where her 3.00-3.95 power is ridiculously overpowered un-focused, so much that you can take down a boss health bar before the bullets could even reach you. The stage 4 replay de-sync for some reason de-syncs the player movement and the level itself, so in the level all you see is your player dieing in places you never died in, mainly because the player moved either too early or too late then the original replay.

Other than that, I think it's still work obtaining. Especially now since MoF's english patch is out.

Kidding, but half kidding, really. If somebody's new to the series, that game will probably turn them off from the series. I know that if I'd played that as my first Touhou game, I wouldn't have put in as many hours as I've put in today. I do think Touhou is fun, but... that game is just horrible, haha.

In America, probably. In Japan, this became the start of Touhou's ultimate boom and popularity, because we play for the characters and story as much as the gaming aspect. You can't really say it sucks considering the fact that this was the start of the Touhou boom. I don't think the game is half-bad either.
