ecigs
I figured it'd be a good time to start a thread, I didn't expect many people on FFR to have one. What setup do you have? Mods? Tanks? Drip Tips? Favorite brand of liquid? Concentration?
Current Setup: - Knock off Kayfun rebuildable 3ml tank (all steel mmmm) - Gravity Force v1 2.8ml tank (backups) - Gravity 900MAH Variable in Red - Adjustable Drip Tip (so beautiful) - I bought a lanyard because my pen kept falling between the couch cushions and I swear I almost broke my tank one day. I used to have an iClear 30s, best 3ml dual coil tank for your buck imo. I've grown attached to the Mr. E liquids, I think it's a MI exclusive iunno. But they got some awesome flavors that doesn't really change much when you add nicotine. I swear sometimes I'll try a Halo flavor with 0% and get a bottle of 0.6% and it'll taste nothing like in the store. I've been considering buying a new mod. I have a friend who has the iTaste I34, the big ass lightsaber looking thing; and he keeps trying to get me to buy the I34 Mini. I'm kinda stuck on the Gravity Sonic Boom though. Anybody have a mod?

Re: ecigs
I had no idea that smoking fake cigarettes was such an in-depth and exciting hobby.

Re: ecigs
I understand your point, but I really was only talking about my own perspective of not knowing this was a thing. I can imagine to outsiders we seem pretty weird getting so technical about keyboards and specific note patterns and difficulty judging for stepmania / ffr / ddr / itg.

Re: ecigs
My apologies, dead-pan statements like that on the internet are pretty much always sarcastic in tone but I was wrong with that one I suppose, oops. Also "an in-depth and exciting hobby" reeks of sarcasm but meh.
I personally don't know anyone who's into the e-cig stuff either so the OP is all mumbo-jumbo to me |

Re: ecigs
Well sure, I was partially poking fun at the idea of taking smoking seriously as a hobby.
I'm somewhat assuming ceolad and others don't actually do that though and the thread just misleadingly makes it look that way just because of how many details are written out. |

Re: ecigs
I wouldn't be surprised. Still, I just home no one in this thread smokes these things in no smoking zones.

Re: ecigs
It was kinda jarring when I saw someone smoking one waiting for the subway, both for smoking from some white plastic thing (I don't really see that) and that people don't smoke there

Re: ecigs
Ecigs are kind of a popular thing here at my university, you see people using it everywhere. There's hardly a day where I don't see someone using one. I listen to the radio in my car and there are ecig radio ads all the time so that could play some role. Anyways, it's rare to see anybody smoking regular ciggs though.

Re: ecigs
Some people react differently to it I guess. It's still a relatively new trend; either people are amazed by it, or they hate it because lolsmoking.

Re: ecigs
Let me preface this by saying that I am very much against smoking tobacco. I wish people would stop killing themselves, and more importantly, affecting people around them.
That being said, Not only do ecigs not stink up the whole room with disgusting cigarette smell, it actually perfumes the area a bit. and it doesn't kill you. and it doesn't kill people around you. and it makes me happy since at least people are trying to stop smoking normal cigarettes. It's not even "smoking" since it's all water vapor. If everyone dropped cigarettes right now and started using ecigs, the world would be a much healthier place.

Re: ecigs
I've sat in rooms with 6 different people vaping, and I'm not going to lie, it does get irritating. I had a headache by the end of the day. Then again it was a tight room and we were smoking other "interesting" things out of our pens...

Re: ecigs
not to get off topic here but speaking of smoking "interesting" things out of pens.. since i have never tried it, and havnt smoked "interesting" things in general in a few years.. how would you rate it against smoking "interesting" things out of traditional smoking "devices"

Re: ecigs
Well assuming we're talking about the same "interesting" things, it varies by the form. Traditional "interesting" things are a pain to smoke out of pens unless you buy a specific pen. I think it's called the Atmos or something, and it has a special adapter that you can buy for the dry stuff. Now if we're talking about the wax-ey "interesting" things, it makes the process way easier. Instead of spending loads on a decent nail or swing set and a torch; depending on your tank you can just load it on top of the coil. Or even if that, you can buy what's called a bubbledome and just as easily load it there. A normal rig with a torch and some butane can set you back from $150-$200 easily. With a pen you'd at most would have to spend $80. Even for the Atmos dry adapter plus the pen is only about $60-$70.
I find the process very different than doing it the traditional way. Of course combustion plays a huge role. A lot of the time when you take a hit, a bit of it contains butane. Without that your hit feels very different in my opinion. You get used to it though. But to answer your question, traditional "interesting" things are best to be used in traditional "devices". The other stuff depends on budget/frequency/mobility etc.
