Default Tricks

What are some tricks you know, or use, either as a hobbyist or professional person using a program, or artistic medium?

Something I explored yesterday (which had been on my mind for awhile) was the concept of stacking multiple effects in Adobe Illustrator, such that multiple "Distort/Transform" effects layer on one another to make simple objects "dynamic".

This is just a square shape, with several effects seen to the right added to it.

If I am to move one point of the square, it affects this new "effect body" shape accordingly.

I plan to apply this to animation in Adobe After Effects when I have time probably during the winter.

Here's another few, you can see how simple these shapes are for how dynamic the results are:

The key thing here to get symmetry is by adding a TRANSFORM effect, setting it to copy and reflect in a certain direction as seen here

Have fun
