RE: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Don't compare it to the first movie. The first one was completely wrong (as stated by multiple people already in this thread). It isn't the "original". It was pretty much a 2 hour long commercial for a new candy bar Quaker Oats was putting out at the same time the movie came out. The directors also went against Roald Dahl on many key things concerning the movie. Also, the "fact that they show what happened to the other kids" isn't a bonus. It's in the book. Maybe you should read it.
Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_o...colate_Factory (Sorry about the page stretch) Also, just found this. Admittedly, the new movie has some slight differences, but its a hell of a lot closer than the first one. (Also, if you're going to talk about a movie, at least spell the main character's name correctly.) |

No, it was nothing like the original, but the movie itself was very original. I thought it was funny, I thought it was cute, I liked the music much better then the first willy wonka movie. Tim Burton rocks, and Johnny Depp is ageless. It was dark, yet it wasn't at the same time. I lvoed it. No need to over analyze it, it was just cute, and "all kinds of amazing".
