I find the mercenaries mini game more fun than the actual game itself.

Since I assume this is still directed at me - I actually have a PS3. And I never said I hated it. I'm still going to buy this game after playing the demo, even though it's awkward that you can't move while reloading and aiming. All I said was that it would be nice to be able to back up while shooting so you don't have to turn around and run, then turn back around and aim again. I think you're being a little too fanatical against X-Box fanatics.

It's just that Resident Evil 4 was on the Gamecube, then PS2, then Wii. Started with Nintendo, dabbled in Sony, and upgraded for Nintendo again (never touched Microsoft). Now I fully understand that the Wii has no capability to handle these kinds of graphics, and you should know that that's why it's the only system that can't support RE5. I'm anti-Xbox, mostly just because of the hardcore fanatics, and they are the only people who are so close-minded that they can't appreciate a game that isn't a first-person shooter.
No started on Sony. The first Resident evil game was on the PS1. Then got ported.
Then Resi 2 went to PS1 first. Then got ported.
Then Resi 3 went to PS1 first. Then got ported.
The second console it went to was Sega (Dreamcast) then got ported to the PS2. (Code: Veronica)

Resident Evil changed a lot when 4 came out. Then a tiny bit more with 5. So lets work with 4 and 5. So the game is more action orientated than survival puzzle horror now. Being able to walk sideways was a big improvement to the Resi action style. Although losing some of the original adrenaline inducing "Rooted to the spot" game play. If they were going to carry on with the action style (which they have) then better movement is a smart move.

I actually myself feel like being able to move and shoot would be a bit much and not work well. The whole point of standing still like that is essential to the last remaining horror aspects of the game. Resi 5 is a hell of a lot easier than 4 because of fact you can move around enemies. Seriously the fights against chainsaw guy and axe guy are so easy because of being able to strafe around them.

I love Resident Evil whatever. I was with the series from the beginning. I preferred the old style I think, which says a lot because I loved Resi 4. Yeah move and shoot was never there to begin with but what does that have anything? It there now, get used to it man.

Ps. Anti any console people make me laugh. A lot. Seriously why even get involved in such childish fanboy debates.

If you're not a fanatic then it's not directed at you, however I still say move-and-shoot is not right for this game. As for fanaticism, not many people fight fire with water anymore :/

The last sentence was the only statement that contributed to the debate, I know RE4 and I know RE5, and yeah if they want to make it more action-packed, fast-paced movement next I get it.

I agree all the way, this is the problem I'm talking about :l

That does say a whole lot, I love RE4 and I still love RE5 (I play with RE4 controls ;D). As for move-and-shoot and having to get used to it on my part, it's still not in RE, but if you're talking about all games in general now, I looove Ratchet: Deadlocked, big fan, move-and-shoot, just not for RE.

It's not the console at all, it's the fanatics. I also can't think of a reason to buy an Xbox, but that's not even part of the problem.

Am I the only one who thinks Wesker was portrayed horribly in re5?

In the older resident evil games he was the mysterious badass. The guy you knew you had no chance against and hoped you wouldn't have to fight him.

In re5 he's shown as this psychotic man hell-bent on world destruction. He kept losing his cool and it was just weird and so unlike him. I didn't like it at all.

The last fight with him was just so unrealistic, lame and random.

I still think he is probably one of the biggest bad asses in all of gaming, but I do agree the last fight seemed random and out of place, but then again, so is every crazy villain who wants to destroy the world. I still can't figure out how those Asians got such fast times...I call hax.

I have to agree. if you know how to use the computer properly, it's quite helpful. Except for professional mode. If you take one hit you go into deadly and your health plummets so fast that the computer never reacts fast enough.

The AI is plenty competent. Only thing you have to look out for mainly is their ammo consumption. They really don't try to conserve.

Spoiler below.

Also Wesker is still a bad ass. He only really loses his cool at the end. You know, when you completely **** up his plan

i've been with RE since the beginning and i like RE5 just as much as the rest of them. it has changed a lot since the first one, but i don't care. my favorite was RE: survivor for some reason, even though i didn't like the first person shooter.

my gamertag is blindreper is anyone wants to play. not on the often though.

Up to Chapter 3-2 still having fun. We went back to S-Rank some of the earlier chapters on veteran which was fun with hardly upgraded weapons. 11.5 minutes on 1-1 veteran, which I thought was decent. Would have S-ranked 3-1 first time if that damn crocodile hadn't eaten me.

I want to get this, but I don't know if I spend money getting it on PS3 or 360.

Don't know if it would make much difference, I wanna get it on PS3 coz I'm used to it on the PS, but then there will probaly be more people to play with on the 360.

I find it better to have someone in real-life to co-op with. That way you know how they play and you can plan things much better (who gets what / how to approach things etc.) rather than getting someone different each time you play and not knowing how competent they'll be.

I was doing chapter 5-3 professional online last night and oh dear.
it took us near an hour to beat (the boss fight made our death total 57) and I have to do it again because I got disconnected halfway through the chapter and rejoined, so it doesn't count as me beating it.

I tried it this morning and totally sucked. I kept dying when i had to restrain jill cause I was expecting to hit X but oh no it was B so i get punched and down i go game over.

Yeah I'm almost done with veteran mode which will be the third play through. I have Chris' chain gun, Sheva's bow, infinite ammo for the ak, the original smith and wesson, a handgun the original shotgun and a fully upgraded S&W 500 (which does 5000 damage and is essentially a rifle sized gun lol).

Lately though I've been playing online and stun-gunning my partner. Between that and spamming "C'MON!" I can't stop laughing when everyone quits.

So far I only have the chain gun, bow, L. Hawk and Rocket Launcher with infinite ammo...I decided to get the Action Figure achievement instead of other infinite ammo. Working my way through Normal now after going back and getting S rank on all Am chapters and what not and S rank of the first 4 on Normal, so yeah, slowly working my way back to where I was before my data died on me.

That and only 2 of my guns need upgraded, then they are all at max.

2 pistols, 3 shotguns, 2 magnums, 3 or 4 machine guns, 2 rifles and my rocket launcher all have infinite ammo. I got the gatling gun and it was pretty terrible, so i got the achievement for it and sold it. Same with the longbow (the longbow is actually really good, i just sold it cause i knew i would never use it).

I'm going for the figurine achievement as well (and so far purchased every available one) but I only have 18/30 BSAA emblems.

I did all the emblems last night, so I got that achievement, then got the costume one, got the figurine one and finished off with the egg in your face one...that one was a pain for me. Already did the stockpile one and have all the special weapon kill ones and now working on the To the Max and the treasure one along with normal mode.
