It's not the OS we're talking about. It's the computer's they sell. They just don't give out the rights to allow other companies to have their PCs pre-installed with OS X. If I had to choose between Windows and OS X, and software compatibility wasn't an issue, I'd choose OS X in a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure the markup Apple uses is FAR above 10%. Apple makes good stuff they just do dirty business. And believe me Izzy I know a guy who's family can totally **** up a Windows 7 installation in a week flat.

I guess it's true that you can mess up the win 7 install pretty fast, but I don't think I could do it from viruses. The registry just has pathetic stability issues.

I keep a registry backup of a clean install just in case something really goes bad. I just swap out my registry to the clean one and delete all my software and reinstall. I haven't had to do that yet but I'm a lot of people could benefit from doing that. It's basically a manually way of doing a system restore.

Most people I know get Macs to stick it to Microsoft. Problem is... Bill Gates owns 40% of Macintosh.

Fix'd. Enjoy your overpriced computer you retard. A loan doesn't mean you can afford it on your own and your attitude just makes you look like a ****ing loser lol. You're not impressing anyone and I expected better from you TBH (Not the fact you're buying a Mac but your attitude entirely).

I don't know but within a week Google searches redirected to some shifty 3rd party search and the computer would randomly shut off. Anyway what I do with my registry is restoring my latest backup right before installing an application, then backing it up after installing that application. I do the same for updates too. My latest format is coming up to the two year mark and only now do I need to reformat it.

Why must I become a retard every time someone mentions mac..

I'm using my MacBook Pro perfectly fine. It's pretty, and it works well enough on things I do most of the times.... It's just a bit (or way too ****ing) expensive.

Windows has always done what I've wanted to do with a computer. I've been responsible enough not to let it crap out on me constantly and I don't see the need to spend an extra 700$+ for a brand name that nerds drool about :P

My stepdad, always trying to convert me to Apple, bought me my MBP for college. I stuck on Windows 7 and have been happily using it since. It's really a nice piece of tech (though I still really ****ing hate hate hate unibody aluminum whatever and the no-button trackpad retardation), it's just that it cost 2.5k which is silly beyond belief.

bootcamp deserves some props too, it's been doing an admirable job of fitting windows into a Mac, except for some really annoying keyboard issues. It pretty much breaks the Windows 7 keyboard control panel settings.
