No Flash Love for the iPhone
Coming out of WWDC are reports that Apple has officially admitted that the Apple iPhone will not support Adobe's Flash plug-in in Safari.
I am officially bummed .. http://www.macrumors.com/2007/06/12/...on-the-iphone/ |

Re: No Flash Love for the iPhone
Yeah I was never holding my breath about the iPhone being more than a horrible attempt to further market the ipod to all those trendy phonesters. It's not going to be innovative or handy, it won't be business practical and it's $500 with a plan. People complained about a $600 super computer, what will they say about a $500 phone that doesn't do anything more than normal phones do?

Re: No Flash Love for the iPhone
I agree with Fish. Apple has been trying to up the hype on the iPods because sales have dropped. Since the release of Creative Labs' Stone, Neeon, and V/V+, the spotlight has been diverted, causing iPod to lose popularity. That and the release of several articles explaining the major faults in iPods.
According to several articles I have read, after about the first year, iPod batteries start diminishing, and it becomes hard for them to hold a charge. To replace the battery costs more than to buy a new iPod, and it becomes a hassle. Also, they are easily cracked, and of course, cannot be repaired, only replaced. Now, the Creative Labs products can have the battery replaced, [on most], and have a much harder shell, making them hard to crack. Also, you get more space for what you pay. I myself have a Zen Micro. It's 5G and cost 150 USD. I've had it for almost two years, and I can go about 3 days without charging it before it needs it. While it's heavier and thicker than the iPod, it handles almost all types of music files, and has a built in FM radio/radio recorder, mic and organizer, as well as a flash drive. Personally, I think iPods are greatly overrated now, and that it's time for someone else to step up. Or a few someone elses. The new Zune is pretty cool, and there are a few others on the market that are good competition as well. Anyways, about the iPhone again. 500 dollars for a phone is a bit much. No matter what it does. I think that the price will come down over time once Apple sees how bad it does. It's nothing more than a trend. It will fade as quickly as it came. I am sort of biased, though, I've used Apple for a good portion of my school career, and I don't like they way they are set up. Last edited by fataldisaster; 06-13-2007 at 12:43 AM.. Also, if you are smart about it, they can be replaced, just purchase a Best Buy warranty. |

The iphone... I don't see why people need all those features in a phone, I have my eyes set on a very heavy, very large 80's Retro Phone, though it has modern technology and LCD screen and all of that jazz. Just need to find one to buy! (Their all sold out for obvious reasons) Anyones, back on subject, who would ruin a $500 phone playing laggy FFR on it? And who would want to do so on such a small screen with such small buttons? Even if this isn't entirely about FFR, Flash isn't exactly necessary right out of the box you know. -Chunky_cheese Last edited by chunky_cheese; 06-13-2007 at 02:25 AM.. |

Yeah, Apple products of today, are really overrated.
They overprice all of there items. The Phone does look awesome, but it's never what it seems. |

Re: No Flash Love for the iPhone
My Ipod's battery is coming close to it's expiry date, I should sell it and buy a new computer tower now. *Insert other devious plots here*

Re: No Flash Love for the iPhone
The iPhone is just so gimmiky, it's hard to take it seriously.
"GUYS OMG GUYS DID YOU SEE THAT" "What? What! What happened, Jerry? What's wrong?" "Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, so I was just sitting here with my iPhone®™©2007 Apple and I decided to watch a movie on it, so I turned it sideways AND THE DISPLAY ADJUSTED TO MY THOUGHTS. IT READ MY F*CKIN' MIND!!!!!" "Jerry, that kind of technology has been around for almost a decade." "NO IT HASN'T APPLE IS RE-DEFINING THE WAY WE TALK ON THE PHONE GET OVER IT CHARLES" No one's really impressed. |
