Rhythm Tengoku Gold (Rhythm Heaven in NA and Rhythm Paradise in EU) is still one of the funnest, most addicting games for me.

If you haven't played it I highly recommend all of you to do so.

I have to agree with the guy, the DS is an amazing handheld device. I do not really buy many games for the DS, but all the games I have bought I am happy with and are quite fun to say the least. It would be nice if the DS had more 3-D games, but I honestly prefer the game to be simplistic and fun, than to be pretty and boring. I have not seen any games (from what I have) that overuse the touch screen, but for the ones I have, it suits the situation quite well. I have not played Henry Hatsworth yet, but I have a puzzle game game called March of the Minis, which is seriously an addicting game (it would have been nice if they had made more levels though). If I compare the DS to the PSP, I would choose the DS anyday. Sure the PSP has better graphics, but who cares if it does (a lot of you probably disagree with this statement), the touch screen is what makes the games more interactive and interesting (without overuse, which I have yet to see).

DS is nice, but for me, an RPG gamer, it's really not where it's at.

Sure it's got a lot of remakes, but they're mostly bad remakes of games I've already played, or games I don't want to deal with the gimmicks to play.

The psp may have a lot of remade RPGs but it's ones I've never heard of, like Legend of Heroes, and they still have more fun RPGs in my opinion.

Plus I don't have to worry about it having a gimmick like telling the characters to move or poking them with a stylus. Or totally ruining Disgaea.

A reason the DS can't be compared with the SNES, is because the SNES has a nostalgic factor. You also have the fact that developers were able to focus more on the gameplay, relative to today where games have this rat race to keep up with graphics and experimental genres. What games on the DS can be compared with Zelda, MegaMan, Super Metroid, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Super Mario World, or even Harvest Moon?

Comparing apples and oranges in my opinion.

I agree with you're eaten post. RPGs are some of the better things out for the DS.

That being said no one's said Kirby Canvas Curse which is inventive and awesome.
And all touch based for you Izzy.

EDIT: I think I'll mention here that when someone says IMHO I get the feeling their an arrogant ass. I mean just put IMO, IMHO is like you're trying to be fancy and British or something. This is nothing against you, cause you don't seem like an arrogant ass, just mentioning it.

You can compare Zelda with Zelda, Super Metroid with Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart with Mario Kart DS, Donkey Kong with Donkey Kong, Super Mario World with Super Mario World, and Harvest Moon with Friends of Mineral Town. The only one you can't compare is Megaman (I think) because the new ones blow hard. Yes most of these are Game Boy Advance games but hey the first two DS models are compatible.

I've got a good 'ole first gen DS, and I've bought more games for it than any other console. Oh yeah the graphics could definitely be improved, but well crafted games are well crafted.

My favorites on the DS:
Phantom Hourglass
COD4 World at War
Metroid Prime Hunters
Mario Kart
Assassin's Creed

Like seriously, I find it so much fun swinging link's little sword around with the stylus, as well as the handwriting recognition built into the game. FPS on the DS is just plain fun. It was one of the genres I knew would be fun on it, and they really are extremely fun.

In somewhat related news, I also have a Wii and PS2. I like Nintendo's console style - it's always focused on gameplay rather than graphics. (But seriously.. the DS is VERY low poly :/ could've been a lot better with even the slightest improvement)

That said, if I was rollin' with cash, I'd definitely get a 360 + PSP as well.
