"one - trip - let" Or if you're lame you can count them like: "trip - l - et" Three sixteenth notes bunched together does not equal a triplet. Call them triples or something. |

triples, triplet... to me, the same thing. i have no musical background. it's purely terminology for FFR/SM to me.

I don't care until people start referring to hands as triples/triplets.

Re: 4th Official FFR Tournament - Round 4.
Since the very beginning of my FFR/DDR career, hands have always been Triples or Quads. Pending on the amount of arrows obviously. Everybody I know calls them that as well.
To hell with you. :P When I refer to something that has 3 three note pattern, (like the triplets you were referring to there) I just call them Triple Sets, because normally they are followed by more sets of triples.

Messed up on that last jump part, got like 5 goods and a boo. Sightread also, so it was a bit new to me. I'm leaving for 2 weeks, so I can't improve most probably D:

Re: 4th Official FFR Tournament - Round 4.
Hands ARE called triples.
It's only logical as seeing four note jumps are known as quads. But hands definitely aren't triplets...they're the purple notes in FFR, as arrekusuof93 already mentioned, when three notes take the place of two. In FFR, a red arrow, followed by two dark purple arrows, are eighth note triplets, taking the place of a red arrow and a blue arrow, two eighth notes. A red arrow, followed by a light purple arrow and then a dark purple arrow, are sixteenth note triplets, taking the place of a red arrow and a yellow arrow, two sixteenth notes. Same thing applies for 32nd notes, 64th notes, etc. Three notes in the place of two. |

Re: 4th Official FFR Tournament - Round 4.
i always thought triplets were those um purpley ones with the red.
and i call 3 16th notes da-na-nas. i think they're 16th notes. or maybe ba na nas. they're called bananas now. |

The notes in that screenshot are straight (probably sixteenth), even though there are only three. Because they don't entend to the next measure. The triplets are when 3 notes are used instead of four to cover any length of time. So instead of counting 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 You'd count: 1 -- 2 -- 3 But it lasts the same amount of time. Think Jazz or Funk when you see triplets. It's groovy baby.

Re: 4th Official FFR Tournament - Round 4.
It might be that I just had a mental block on 300 from day one but for me it was definitely the hardest song to AAA in the tourney so far. those near 300 bpm air dumps at the end were really hard for me to nail because of the the awkward patterns at that speed =/. Yeah I managed to do AAA it twice already but it took several times the amount of tries than any of other songs so far
