Re: What would you do, given that you know you wouldn't fail?
oh **** this is a good question right now
I would A) punch my mom in the face, and then reset back before I punched her. I am totally pissed off at her right now and I don't want to face the repercussions for it. (I probably would feel bad about it some day later down the line) B) move the hell out of this place and get a job and support myself C) I would start freelancing for my graphics, because this shit is getting easier for me to feel good about doing D) confess my feelings to this one girl I've known for a long time if this was a question about stuff that I would fix from my past then I have a lot of crap to write right now inb4 people bitching about what I said in A) edit: a few fun ones I thought of that aren't necessarily about life goals was A) rob a bank, take the money and do something awesome with it like spending it on a vacation or something A2) rob a bank and see how long I could last running away from the cops with it B) open up a cake shop that only sells cream filled cakes, but instead of cream I would fill it up with mayo to see everyone's reactions C) go into a police station and shout "I CONFESS!!!" or something along those lines D) live out my life for a week, reset it, and try to live it better D2) live out my life for a week, memorize it, reset it and then act psychic about everything that happens Last edited by Pseudo Enigma; 08-21-2012 at 12:24 AM.. |

There is also this goal of mine to move out of the states and live in Europe so that I can experience and understand many different cultures. I am currently putting this goal on "hiatus" since I am still too young to consider attending school outside of the US. Although it is tentative and from the looks of it, highly unlikely haha, I will say that my top choice for math graduate school is located outside of the US. I suppose I am indirectly trying to make this goal happen haha. EDIT: So really, to answer your question; Pursue the musical career and see how far I can go. Also, try and achieve my goals in the future. Last edited by iironiic; 08-21-2012 at 12:18 AM.. |

Re: What would you do, given that you know you wouldn't fail?
I'd probably quit my current job then and go after a life of becoming a pro-gamer.
If I became the best I could make $300,000.00 easily. However, the average is like $20,000 - $50,000. |

I think I'd like to see what my life would end up like if I had accepted the medication during anger management classes.

Cure disease and aging all together, then get secretly assassinated by the cancer research society
In all reality, open up a poutinerie in a foreign country . So predictable

Would reset until I nailed 5 in-a-row bracelets for the main event, the big PLO and the $50k HORSE. Other things would include: - Pursuing card magic as a career instead of a hobby I blow my family/friends/poker mates away with. - Smoking my weight in pot in under 3 decades then reset and never touch the stuff (255lb & 6'6" at the moment, so this would be about 10g/day, lol) - Following through with my kick-ass triple jump skills from high school (PB was 14m55 when I was 14) - Actually go to my follow-up audition for Big Brother 2005 instead of listening to my ex and not bothering. - Follow through with my Football career instead of giving it up to drink and pick up women. - Probably many, many more, but it is late and that is all I can think of off the top of my head~ Last edited by nois-or-e; 08-21-2012 at 08:58 AM.. |

So I guess my answer is maybe I'd go back and slug my way through the work and become a psych prof. But maybe not, because regardless or not whether I can go back and fix something, if I'm guaranteed to have a hard time of doing it and am very, very likely going to break down at some point, I'm not sure that pain is worth it. Even if I could erase the feeling of failure. I do have a second answer unrelated to the first one because it involves the risk of money, and that would be to shamelessly plug and promote the set of novels I still plan on finishing and will try to get published, but don't want to risk putting money into, say, having the prime spot in chapters or getting Apple to put it in their adds, etc. |

Re: What would you do, given that you know you wouldn't fail?
Back in the day I wanted to be a Video Game Programmer, but now I know I really just am not much of a gamer at all. FFR/Stepmania is pretty much the only game I play.
I'm currently pursuing a major in Computer Engineering, dealing with hardware stuff -- and of course programming along the way. Now I know Video Game Developing isn't in my best interests. I'm afraid the Video Gaming route would have been too risky (disliking my work, lack of interest, heavy competition, etc.)

i already do fail at many things, because i spread myself thin and never become an expert. then again, i define my failure by not being an expert at anything. being a generalist rather than a specialist is a blessing and a curse, often times i feel the latter more poignantly. restating what i said before, nothing is stopping my pursuit of anything. this is why, as i said to iironiic earlier, i would prefer being wildly successful at everything. i attempt so much, i don't have the time or resources to dedicate to reaching the quality i want. unless i'm being lazy, in that case disregard everything i just said. ;p |

Become the elected leader of the Earth by doing various deeds of kindness for wayward strangers across the world, rule with the benevolence of a saint for 5 years
And then nuke everything. |

Re: What would you do, given that you know you wouldn't fail?
Knowing that I wouldn't fail, I would certainly do heaps better in school and proceed with going to a spectacular college that offered photography and musical opportunities. I did fail at getting back with playing the cello, so that would be another thing.
As for more adventurous things ~ TRAVEL lots because having quite the sum of money is not a failure. Also, learning different dances and play poker quite the numerous times ;D

Re: What would you do, given that you know you wouldn't fail?
Do something really unrealistic like attempting to fly or kamehameha or something.
More rationnally, attempting to get really insane grades at school so I can do what I wanna do. Or maybe even kill myself.
