i'm working on a couple custom type games right now.

i have one that's more or less ready to play, and one that's gonna be a bit.

Prisoner's Dilemma

Prisoner's dilemma: each twilight, you will be randomly paired off and you must decide whether to betray or trust.

If you both trust each other, you will both get minor powers.

If you both betray each other you recieve no powers.

If one person betrays and the other trusts, the betrayer recieves a major power, and the truster gets nothing.

If there is an odd number, one person will be randomly left out, and there is a 50% chance that they will retain their previous power.

Anyone talking about meta for upcoming dilemmas (discussion of past dilemmas is allowed) automatically alerts the guards, and is thrown in the hole for any upcoming days whose meta they address. If you offer up a strategy for all upcoming dilemmas, you are in the hole forever. Dont let the guards hear you planning.

The hole is a bad place. When you are in the hole you may not post at all during that day phase, your vote moves to yourself (solitary can be depressing), and you do not participate in that day's dilemma.

There are day powers and night powers. If you talk about a day power in thread during the day that it is active, you lose your power. Since night powers have already been used by the time the day starts, they are always fair game. If you say more than "i have a day power" in the thread, you risk losing your power. If you lose your power, i will notify you via PM.

Prisoner's dilemma happens Twilight, powers come into effect immediately.

Game has a twilight start.

No talking outside of thread during day or twilight. Wolves and other roles who have permission may talk outside the thread during night only.

also fojar is the overall utility of a trust+trust guaranteed to be more than the single person utility of a betray+trust?

because in prisoner's dilemma trust+trust is way better for both than betray+trust if i understand it correctly

can we discuss the previous twilight in the current day phase?

can we make it we define "major" and "minor" roles in a way that gives us a sense of the tradeoff?

in prisoners dilemma, trust trust is like you each get one year in prison, betray trust gets one person five and the other person gets off scott free, and betray betray is 5 each.

so basically it's a similar situation, where not going to jail is awesome and much much better than one year, but one year is also much better than five years.

yeah, but if some people have day powers you might not be able to get much out of them.

major roles are your traditional power roles, and things like them. minor roles are things that will usually give you a small advantage, or someone else a small disadvantage, or some of the weaker power roles.
