My Farcry Demo is being retarded.

I am aware that Farcry, and its demo, are not very new. But I just downloaded it, and I want it to work. So, it's your job to help me out.

Basically, it looks like my computer thinks that I am in a constant state of noclip mode. I don't know why. But that's only part of it. Textures are screwed up, everything is screwed up. I don't think it could be my computer.

Stats:
3.0 GHz Pentium 4 Processor
Nvidia GeForce 4 Video Card
Audigy Sound Blaster (The sound works fine, but I put this anyway).
1024 Megs (1 Gig) of RAM.

The computer COULDN'T be the issue.

Note: File recieved from Fileplanet. Reliable place.

So, basically, what the hell?

Iiiiiiiinteresting. Nice bit of artifacting you've got going on there, budday.

I'd try a couple things. There's always the obvious 'make sure your drivers are up to date'. Next, make sure you DON'T have the latest Far Cry patch. I've heard that with the latest Cata and nVidia drivers it's supposed to make stuff wonky. So if you do, download an older version or roll back the patch (if you can). Try downloading the other demo (I know there's two, one of which was PCG exclusive but should be easy enough to find).

One other problem: When I whip out the ol' sniper rifle, it lags like HELL until I turn the scope on.

Like one frame a second? It's pretty bad!

Don't know the type of GeForce.

I don't think its new stuff and drivers etc.

I might just buy the game, after I beat Quake II and Half Life again.

play with the settings in the game. the sniper rifle lags (for you) sometimes because the lens on it reflects realistically what is behind you on certain levels of detail.

but other than that, do what anti said.
