Default Intersect Thunderbolt (67 or 73)

I don't know what people were thinking when they made this a 67 at first. Yeah, the majority of the file is 8th patterns with some 12th jumpstreams, but it's the 16th sections that really kill my wrists due to sheer speed.

Okay, first, some numbers. 250 bpm by itself is faster than a lot of higher-rated songs. Need Me comes to mind with its similar structure of jumpy 8th patterns interspersed with 16th stream when the music warrants it, but at a marginally slower 240, and even Crowdpleaser's 32nds are slower. However, this song packs a trick all its own: Triplets. While not quite cameljacks, they're still deceptively easy to dump goods on, as is the 16th stream right off of the line. The 12th jumpstream shouldn't give anyone issues if they're fast enough to tackle the 16ths, but those sections are reminiscent of Mario Minor and demand about the same level of concentration.

While the 8th sections might not be fast and take up the majority of the song, they're really dense, and use hands liberally to make sure neither wrist gets a break during these parts, which might cause stamina issues or worse, lag spikes. While lag instances may be independent of arrow density, it has an intensified effect on dense sections. Speaking of density, 1501 arrows in 127 seconds is about 11.8 nps on average, which likes to spike to 16.7, and the patterns may or may not be friendly depending on your skill set.

While the scoreboard sorts itself out on this song (we already have five AAAs from the regular crowd), I'm going to argue that the sheer speed required to stay on top of this file warrants a 73 rating, in the upper range of Master difficulty.

Definitely not a 73. The patterns in the 16th runs are repetitive and are very reminiscent of Dance and Zeal (which is a tad bit faster in terms of speed in 16ths). Some of the patterns in the 8th notes were rigid, but the 8ths don't equate to any serious speed that would be relevant in changing the difficulty.

The highest I would put this file is at 70, for how unrelenting the pace is, but no higher than that. 69 seems fine.

It's been bumped to 69 since the initial release, I think 73 might be pushing it.

Again, I find the chart comparable to Dance and Zeal, which is sitting at 68 at the moment. 250bpm streams are certainly fast but they're very short lived in this file, and the stream patterns Kommisar chose are very fluid and comfortable to hit. The rest of the chart includes constant 8th note chaining with hands + 12th note stream, which probably wouldn't even breach the ex-FMO barrier alone. I'd say the streams spike this chart to a 69, but no higher.

edit: lol semi-ninja'd, didn't even see AJ's post when I began typing this

I can also see it as a 70 AT MOST.
It's mainly 125 bpm 16ths with jumps and hands (if it helps you visualize it like this) and then short 250 bpm stream and triplet sections.
It flows well and no tough patterns are formed if you have the speed for it. 69 seems fine -- you could push it to 70 due to the constant nature of the song and how it offers little to no breaks but that's pretty subjective. Either placement will do.

Actually looking at all 69s it pretty much fits in perfectly with those songs the only thing that sets it apart are those fast 16ths. 70 is almost pushing it.

Edit: Now it sounds like I'm blabbering ex post facto and just reiterating what they said. Damn OWA / AJ Ninjas. Glad we all pretty much see eye-to-eye though.

If EHHS and Scythe are 69's there's no reason to bump it more if you ask me it's easier than both of those charts.
