Default Harry Potter 5

This movie sucked. It was one of the biggest disappointments in my whole summer. The other one would be Spiderman 3.

List of reasons:

SPOILER ALERT:
Things that shouldn't have been left out or things that were just stupid.

1. No Quidditch
2. Harry is not supposed to be sad and a pus.. HE SHOULD BE ANGRY!!
3. No Quidditch
4. No Screaming Portrait, wtf, I was excited to see her.
5. Barely any scenes with kreacher, when he is actually VERY important
6. No letter to Petunia saying "REMEMBER MY LAST!!"
7. No Prefects
8. What's up with Voldemort at the train station....in a suit...gay.
9. NO LUNA ON THE TRAIN!!!
A. NO Quibbler...I think this is the biggest problem with the movie because they publish his story in the quibbler later in the book, but i guess thats not important either since Rita Skeeter wasn't in the movie either. (Valentine's Day)
B. They did no justice to Luna, they didn't show her radish earrings or butter beer necklace.
10. No Sorting Hat song, which is a very important peek into whats to come.
11. Doby doesn't find the room for requirement
12. Since when is Filch comic relief?
13. The people in the Order are passed over so quickly, along with the talk about what the Order of the Phoenix is. They could've taken more time for that, it is the title of the movie, not Dolores Umbridge Takes over Hogwarts.
14. No Quidditch
15. No Weasley is Our King song
16. The Whole gawrp was just kinda weird...like Hagrid really didn't seem to care about gawrp that much.
17. Occulmency (sp?) Came later in the movie and was like 2, 2 minute scenes.
18. The young james potter scene was poorly done and confusing.
19. Harry doesn't go to the fire place to see if sirius is there and gets intercepted by kreacher when he sees sirius dieing
20. The kids of the D.A. look like pussies, they don't even fight in the Department of Mysteries!!! WHAT DID THEY TRAIN FOR!?!??!!
21. No Quidditch
22. No St. Mungos
23. No seeing Neville's parents in the hospital
24. No Mundungus
25. Didn't say anything about harry's neighbor being a squib.
26. Cho's best friend wasn't in the movie at all, therefore, SNEAK was not on anyone's forehead.
27. Nothing is ever said how the prophecy could've been about Neville and not Harry.

more to come.......

Agreed. It suffers from the same list of ailments that plague the other movies. Too short, too funny and absolutely no character development. It's as if they (the scriptors) expect fans to accept it because they all know the background stories of everyone in the novels, but they fail to realize that the novels' film counterparts need to be fleshed out similarly, because they aren't just carbon copies.

That aside, the ending duel, though visually epic, would have been better had it been more than 10 seconds.

yea...in every movie they leave out so much
movies never do the books justice when it comes to hp
one thing i disliked thruout the series was no peeves
and i still don't like whoever did the casting for this one

I didn't read the book of it and found it very easy to understand what was going on. No character development? Harry went from being all alone and angry with everyone to realizing friends are important after all.

Also, with your complaint about: "18. The young james potter scene was poorly done and confusing." That's just ridiculous. How could you not know what was going on? If you didn't know, you shouldn't have even been granted permission to see that movie.

You don't have any room to speak because you didn't read the book so you can't even begin to comprehend half of the things we're talking about.

You know, things that worked well in a 700 page book may not always work well in a two hour movie.

AND, if everything in the movie was the same in the book, why watch the movie?

I thought they did a really good job (the best they probably could have) turning an 800 page book into 2 hours. If you look pass the stuff they left out, it was actually a really good movie.

I thought it was amazing and the best movie yet...

You can't expect the movies to be exactly the same as the book... they are DIFFERENT... so, don't complain

I didn't think it was that bad. Not my favorite Harry potter movie, but I still liked it a great deal.

I agree that it wasn't that bad.

It was different from the other ones, but not necessarily worse.

yes, out of all the HP movies, #5 was horrible and boring.

I saw it today.. the best part was the battle with Dumbledore and Voldemort.
