Default 2013 Civic, Destroyed.... :'(

So last night I went to my friends place and I parked on the road which is really wide and in a great neighbourhood, it was 1:00 am when I parked my car and my friend and I went out driving in her car. So we get back about 3:00 and I noticed my car was moved so I run and check and I see someone slammed into in the back of it fucking my trunk up, destroying my bumper, and denting the entire passenger side of my car. It was hit so hard that my car slid almost a full car length into the curb where my tire and rim was wrecked. The tow truck driver thinks the frame may have shifted.

No one left a note...

This car is 5 months old and I paid 30 000 dollars for it. I really hope Insurance covers me cause if not... bye bye school.

There is a picture on my instagram, but the picture doesn't look as bad as it really is.

Instagram = Spikehhh will try to upload a pic later

Damn man...30k dollars for a car at 19 is quite a big investment. Hopefully insurance can help

If you have full coverage on the car insurance companies usually cover hit and run instances. Really sucks to have that happen Probably drunk or something.

Can't get full coverage for write off insurance in BC until 25 years old. I am getting it looked at on Tuesday to assess the damage, but its still pretty bad.

Oh wow, that sounds pretty awful :/ Is the car still in working condition for the most part (i.e. is majority of the damage all cosmetic?). I know you mentioned tire damage which can cost a bit of money but at least that's not as bad as saying driving into a tree and destroying everything in the hood of the car where you have the majority of the things that perform the crucial processes that allow a car to drive.

Imho, brand new cars are almost never worth the investment. The value of a brand new car can go down thousands of dollars the instant you buy it and drive it off the lot. I'm sure there are plenty of arguments as well for buying a new car (such as almost being guaranteed that it's going to be in good working condition which could lead to lower insurance rates and that sorta thing) so I won't question your decision to buy the $30,000 car but just letting you know there are cheaper alternatives to buying a brand new car :P

It wasn't driveable, bumper was falling off and the tire was wrecked the bumper was mangled into the wheel well and there might be something wrong with the frame too.

That would suck. I have to back out of college for at least a year (starting this Fall) because my girlfriend is pregnant.

And yikes... a $30,000 car. Hopefully insurance covers it.

A $30k Honda Civic? Was it a hybrid or something? Those cars start for 15k and the EX-L models are only like 23k

I can possibly see $30,000 in terms of the total cost paid in terms of financing but that seems a bit ridiculous if that's the amount of the initial principle amount owed.

EDIT:
according to honda.ca

Getting a car that expensive on a tight budget was a big risk to take. Hopefully the insurance will cover the damages to the car; hit and runs suck ass.
