Re: Caffefine, a modern day poison or a sweet elixir of energy?
actually on second thought rather than being a mindless non-contributing messiah complex'd douchewad i'll just point out a couple things regarding pure tablet consumption
- you can get 100 200 mg tablets for 8 bucks on amazon (that's 20000mg for u philosphlery-inclined folks), perhaps if you try hard enough you can use logic to determine whether or not this is pessemistic relative to the cost of appropriating such a cache from conventional liquid supplication (perhaps confer/consort/commingle with uer colleague to if you have trouble emancipating the solution from your personal cognitive engine) ok i dont give enough shits to be sassy any longer - i find pure tablets get absorbed more quickly i would definitively say they do but i dont really care enough to go look up papers in medical journals to support my perception - it's easier to monitor consumption and over time i've reduced daily consumption to about 40% compared to 6 months ago - ez to transport if you need a little kick during the working hour doldrums (not that i have any experience with that pleb shit) |

I've been drinking more caffeine (soda) this past week but my acne is starting to flare up from the sugar probably, so I gotta stop. Either that or stress, but I'm cool as a cucumber, so I'll blame sugar. It's probably a poison. But it helps keep me awake on 3.5 hour "naps" which are me not being able to sleep but at least having my eyes closed. I'm a mess right now. Edit: 1337 posts, btw. -o24

Anything is poisonous in high enough dosages. Caffeine is the least of most people's problems.

Wow someone else does morning caffeine tablets.
Yeah, I started doing this some time ago. It's more effective than drinking coffee, it's easier, it's way way way cheaper and overall a fantastic idea. One of the best minor life changes I've ever made. People are so accustomed to getting their caffeine in diluted liquid form that they can't even imagine taking a pill but it's so much easier if you need the kick. Note, combining a caffeine pill with acetaminophen is also a fantastic headache / migraine remedy!

Re: Caffefine, a modern day poison or a sweet elixir of energy?
Caffeine is whatever to me now lol
Edit: I guess the only time I do use caffeine is from my preworkout. Pretty sure that gives me about 200-300 mg of caffeine if I decide to use it. For the most part, I can pretty much go throughout the day just fine without it. Last edited by Mahou; 10-19-2016 at 07:44 PM.. |

no one knows "elixir of energy" until they've experienced the delight of rectal amphetamine

Re: Caffefine, a modern day poison or a sweet elixir of energy?
Coffee sucks to me. It has an immediate laxative effect and because it takes so long to metabolize it leaves me with peripheral stimulation FAR longer than say, a caffeine tablet would.
If you're taking a medicine and wanting consistent results, take it in it's purest form. The mechanism of action of caffeine works only to promote wakefulness in me SLIGHTLY, which is unfortunate. I need a more legitimate stimulant drug to give me wakefulness and optimal cognitive performance (modafinil was alright).

Re: Caffefine, a modern day poison or a sweet elixir of energy?
honestly i've never drank more than a few sips of soda in my entire life as i know it's not something i should get into
if you argue that you need that "kick"/"push for energy it's not a good idea anyways, as you can exercise to get your body functioning optimally. any added drug is usually harmful, especially in excess. the reason us americans are so fat is due largely in part to our consumption of soda and so many people (whether they want to admit it or not) are addicted to it and would probably go through a major withdrawal without it of course those who suffer problems and need caffeine for medical treatment and those are exceptions to the fact that it's usually a killer |

Just look up how caffeine works and understand that it's not for everyone, and better yet, not suitable to be blindly added to products for some sort of added reward system for consuming it.

Re: Caffefine, a modern day poison or a sweet elixir of energy?
I never consume caffeine for the sake of energy, I consume it as a byproduct of some of my favorite drinks. Tea, coffee, and soda all have it (of course there are decaf versions of tea and coffee but when you're on the go and at a restaurant there's a good chance they won't have it). I also enjoy soda but I of course don't enjoy it for the caffeine. If you can find it, caffeine free regular coke tastes great and doesn't differ from regular coke. Fruit sodas and A&W root beer are good too.
Also it never really wakes me up when I have it, I actually went through an effort (how I found out about decaf coke) to take it out because it made me more anxious. Edit: I'm kinda curious how caffeine would help with a workout. Doesn't it already raise your heart rate?

I'm starting to take caffeine pills instead of drinking energy drinks, I really need to cut down on sugar and that is by far the biggest source of my sugar on a daily basis. the zero-sugar energy drinks give me the shits like you can't believe Last edited by choof; 12-20-2016 at 04:46 PM.. |
