Of course, that's if you want to fork out the $150 for a pair......
I also own the Hf5 and it is a good phone, though I haven't sampled many IEMs (in-ear monitors). From a noise cancelling point of view they are pretty much equal to any other decent IEM, only really low frequencies will get through (which generally isn't a problem).

A non-earphone that I think is fine to use in-public is the Koss PortaPro, really cheap (around $40), decent for its price and mostly low profile.

I will also second what has been said about m50, probably the safest bet on its price range. And for open-back I'd recommend any lower-end Grado, I currently own and use a SR225 and so far is my preferred headphone.

I still think they're the most durable bang for your buck.

They are no means top of the line, but they are damn good given their price tag

Too much effort to try to find something with a minimal quality difference that is compatible with iPhone

Plus, warranty

you can get a warranty on Sony products too you know.
I've had my pair of Sony earphones for probably 3 years now. I use them often. Probably best $20 I've ever spent. It just made me wonder if there was a better use. Clearly not. End of discussion.

would gladly take skull candies over apple earbuds

i unironically use these because they're comfortable and they're decent for the price
http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/titan-black-black

i would never use skullcandy headphones because of shit like this:
""Rather than trying to fake a bunch of bass with digital signal processing, the Crushers use an individually powered second driver to trigger a proprietary (and rather hush-hush) vibration system. Even in the sub-optimal audio testing environment that is the parking lot outside of CES, we all walked away pretty impressed."

"the headphones carry a well-balanced sound that’s both full and dynamic. There’s plenty of bass"

There is a difference between noise isolating and noise canceling. Pretty sure these are actually only noise isolating as they claim on the site.

Noise canceling is when the headphones listen to the background noise and make noise of opposite wavelengths or something so that it sounds like nothing.

Skullcandy anything is actually probably worse than apple earbuds, those things are shit and break easily. Apple's aren't much better but they're better than that shit brand.

I had a pair of titans, after about 6 months of use, they started to actually shock the insides of my ears periodically. Needless to say, I threw them out after that.
