Find A Way Out 4 is totally qrrbrbirbel. the white notes in the middle of the jumpstream seem like something they'd do. Sadly, conversion wasn't their friend and it turned into a kinda Good L_ck situation which kinda sucks but issa nice touch either way. : P

I personally found a lot of these charts overstepped in areas. Could have used some build ups IMO.

I liked 1 the best, I think. Though I'm definitely going to be picking "Easier ones" as one of my main criteria for good, since I want to pick the ones -I- want to have in the game most.

I think 3 was qrr. I get why Subaru thinks it was 4 with all the white notes, but I think 3 was the only one that actually tried to do the lyrics without bpm'ing color fixes to keep them red. That makes me think it was Qrr.

5 had an interesting cut, or rather a mix since it basically restructured the entire track.

Find a way out:

Find a way out 1: Found it hard to determine where the jumps were going to at times, there was a pattern in the beginning where you put jumps on the 8th's instead of the 4th's and a few seconds later It goes to the kickdrum sound. I thought the stream towards the end was nice although it felt a bit out of place for such a short file.

Find a way out 2: Èxcessive use of hands and jumps made this file feel very dumpy. I think aside from the kickdrums very little emphasis is needed here so it's overlayered.

Find a way out 3: This may sound weird, but I actually really like what you did here. The broken jumpstream at the end felt nice to play and I commend you for having the guts to step the vocals. However the file felt dumpy, because the song doesn't lend itself much to be stepped like this. It's a chill song.

Find a way out 4: Wow, that did not come out the way it should have. Those grace notes were way off. I also felt the song was too dense the grace notes didn't have to be grace notes. I feel you could have just had them as singles.

Find a way out 5: I think the jumps at the start didn't have to be jumps. And I also think the JS sections were a bit biased at times(long 1-handed trills) I do think the file flowed decently well

Very hard to pick a winner here, but I think I'll choose between 1 and 3, Find a way out 1 I feel represents the music best, although I wish it was longer.

I think 4 was Qrrbrbirbel

I think 5 was -Tim-

Find a Way Out 1 had an interesting structure. For a song with vocals, I expected vocals. Did not get that. Instead, got a lot of trill-structured patterns and staircase triplets.

Find a Way Out 2 Was also an interesting mix, but reminds me a lot of how IcyWorld would step a Dragonforce chart, for StepMania. Unfortunately, this doesn't feel quite like the song that would merit that sort of pander. There was also a lot of jumps & hands that felt like they should have been swapped for one another as well.

Find a Way Out 3 Had the vocals I was looking for. The vocals at the intro of the file seemed like they had a subtle amount of dump to them, but the core of the file was very nicely structured, and I wasn't getting lost in what the Stepauthor was trying to provide in the file. Very nice. Has my vote.

Find a Way Out 4 Had a good idea set in stone, and lost it to conversion. Good example of why people should move away from placing grace notes 'as-is', and look into placing them based on a ms-timing format, and utilizing BPM changes.

Find a Way Out 5 had a similar impression to me like Find a Way Out 3, but lacking a little more in stream structure in comparison. Holds up very well against others however.

1 - Main issue is that the ending streams are way harder than everything else. Other than that it's mainly weird layering choices and unimaginative patterns (pr is mostly fine but very literal). The long intro with no notes kinda sucks as well, it takes way too long to pick up.

2 - No reason to not step the clap during the intro. Nothing against going full icyworld with js but the hihat 16ths before the continuous stream seems to have some inconsistencies. The chart has no sense of nuance but the build up early one wasn't too bad.

3 - Intro was ok though very wrong pr-wise and some weirdness when the layered vocals started to mix with other instruments. Not much nuance otherwise but patterning was serviceable for the jumpstreamy parts.

4 - Good intro aside from the sudden switch in layering. It was particularly interesting to see the secondary voice stepped. Definitely the most polished one and conceptually similar to 3, though not cutting early didn't work in its favor. The white note usage seemed a bit unnecessary and the section with practically only hands really drags.

5 - It's not as bad as 1, but also suffers from the streams being way harder than everything else. I'm all in for going with an easier approach, but for that difficulty curve I'd at most consider using strictly single note 16th streams with patterns leaning on the easier side. Also worth noting that the poor PR is particularly jarring going with an easier approach.

Can't really say I particularly like any of the files, but I think overall 4 is the best one.

In short, playing-wise I enjoyed 1, 3, and 5 the best. Although 1 is short and definitely a bit repetitive I thought it was fun and definitely suits the build of the music, being a shorter cut I'm okay with the difficulty spike.

2 felt incredibly overstepped, which some people may like, but in this case I didn't feel it was necessary.

3 felt like a bit more of a complete version of 1 with a more diverse stream.

4 I liked the concept of the grace notes with the echoed vocal but I thought it was too much at times and distracted from the rest of what was going on.

5 had a similar structure to 1 in that is was maybe oversimplified in the intro with a pretty straightforward group of streams.

Pretty up in the air here.

Find A Way Out 1 — I was intrigued at the potential risk of making a tasteful and easier file, which was what this seemed to be for a good majority of it; however, when the synth melody came in, that hope was dashed. That aside though, I do appreciate the attempt at having proper pitch relevance, but the patterning in the streams are not the most well-conceived because they create endless zig-zagging/staircases. Having a bit more pattern deviation in the streams while still having better focus in accenting between hands would improve the flow substantially.

Find A Way Out 2 — Fade-in and fade-out are a bit on the uninspiring side; a bit more effort could have been done to cut this song a bit better. The previous submission to this also cuts mid-song, but it’s not as obvious of a fade and is therefore presented better. That being said, the structure for this is extremely explicit and simply layers melodic elements on top of percussion, which gives a heavy and occasionally inconsistent feel in how it plays, particularly when the synth runs start. Notwithstanding that, it’s understandable and sensible - you can generally feel the accents appropriately and is a fair effort as a submission.

Find A Way Out 3 — Structure for this is not bad at all. Chart effectively accents key points in the music and the chart is mostly fluent even when the pacing ramps up to accommodate for the higher speed synth melody. I do feel like accenting the lyrics in the intro as precisely as possible (or with some unknown color theory that’s slipping by my thought process) ended up being more of a detriment than a benefit due to its accompaniment with other instrumentation; as a result, the frame separation in the earlier part of the song is a bit inconsistent.

Find A Way Out 4 — This chart suffers very badly from improperly handled color notes with respect to the engine; sections that are supposed to have dual-accenting with 192nd/colored notes on top of other instrument very frequently have 1-frame separation which create an inordinate amount of unintended burst patterning. Despite that, the overall structure is executed very well, and this song manages to create a longer playable experience than others without being too bogged down without redundancy, though the cut is definitely noticeable.

Find A Way Out 5 — Interesting concept for a song cut; as a whole, the music does progress in a way that’s logical, so kudos to actually attempting to be a bit more creative. The chart itself does need some work: while it properly follows rhythms during the synth streaming, the patterning has some strong one-handed biases when it can be avoided and doesn’t give a lot of credence to the overall melodic composition. Additionally, the jump placements don’t quite accurately represent the melody as indicated initially in your structure (numerous jumps are missed and a few are even out of place).
