Default The Piano Minipack Of Elegance 2(CANCELLED)

It's been a long time coming and here I am to fucking bring it.

Submission rules will be the same as they were for the last pack.

-The song must be piano focused. Just because there is piano in the song doesn't mean it's okay to submit.

-technical dumps are fine other dumps are not

-multiple difficulties encouraged but not required

-6key encouraged but not required

-No resteps from previous pack

-Unreleased files

The goal is to have 15-20 solid files and the pack will be released once the goal is reached.

Submit your stuff to pianominipack2@gmail.com

Piano Folio... To A Disappeard Pielad[Scintill] - nice song choice. Cut the beginning and start the song at 34.617. at 114.241 you could either layer in the left hand which becomes louder or you could what i did here and keep the single notes and follow the left hand instead of layering it in. just leaving it at trills though makes the section feel empty on the second half

finally cut the song at 169.701. other than what i suggested this file is solid

Wow Wow Wow[scintill] - damn this was great.

Riding (Day) (Pazzaz) - you pretty much did the same patterns for the entire song. the song doesn't exactly repeat either but even if it did you could totally change up the patterns every repetition. even with fixes i probably won't accept this because of the nature of the song.

Piano Folio...To A Disappeard Pielad[Scintill] - (fixes) not much to say the fixes you did to the patterns in the trill were great and anchoring the notes played well.

Aether[DarkZtar] - @52.562 change the pattern from 342[14]4 to 132[14]4 to avoid the three note 16th jack. the main reason i put this in conditional is because your jump usage doesn't really make any sense to me. would be cool if you could explain what you were going for because it seems all over the place.

Etude Op. 4 for 6-string and Piano[Leonid] - After checking out the jack section that starts at 65.941 I'm still not entirely sure what the jacks are going to. Are you stepping then to the bass kicks? i think just doing stream would be better with some minijacks thrown in rather than having anchored jacks the way you have them because playing it at speed its hard to tell that the bass kick is what you're going for. thats really my only gripe with the file

Aether[DarkZtar] (fixes) nice

天叢雲剣[rparty] - This file plays like a brainstorm of ideas rather than a finished file.

Op.39 No.10[Bynary Fission] - I'd like to see more added to the file where there were empty sections(you mentioned you couldn't sync the notes and left them empty on purpose but i think things can be added. if you want i could fill in those sections) and the awkward small sections where you just randomly stopped stepping. there are also running men that felt awkward to hit and would like to see them repatterned.

Triangle - Kalre - Do a cut with a fade in starting at 55.672 and cut at 182.444. you have a some ghost notes scattered throughout and your layering is really sketchy. you also didnt finish stepping the file and have patches of randomly stepped sections.

Moonview Highway(4key)[scintill] - i'd like to see more hands added but that a small thing that wouldn't really affect the file.
Moonview Highway(6key)[scintill] - patterns at 18.733 should be changed up because 12 trills add way more difficulty to the section which shouldn't be so hard. this is a bit above my skill level for solo so see if you can get some other people to play test it. layering looks fine and the patterns flowed pretty well to me

Chakusei Zero [riktoi] - i'm giving this a conditional and not a rejection even though there are a lot of things that need work to not discourage you from actually working on the file and sending fixes.

The sync needs work. make sure you double check everything on something like arrow vortex or ddream to make sure the notes are actually on beat because lowering the rate can distort the notes too much making it hard to discern where they actually fall and a visual waveform will help you with that due to how simple the song is. it's very clear where the notes are when looking at the waveform for a song like this. Another thing i would like to see is the gimmick you have going on with the 96th/192nd notes removed. i understand the intention but i feel it detract from the file and isn't really warranted because you aren't consistent with it and if you would be it would be a cluster fuck in my opinion. lastly make sure you double check for missing layering that you have and add notes accordingly. don't be afraid to use hands as there are a lot of missed opportunities for them and i think, especially towards the second half of the song, they would create tension and representing the song better.

Chopin - Valse Op.69 No.2 (SKG_Scintill) - solid easy file. the only thing i'd like to know is why you didn't layer anything during the descending roll?

Dance Of The Kokiri(Kinx) - really smooth difficulty progression

I've Got Rhythm (MarioNintendo) - [heavy]at 17.83 you have that long 3 8th jack. vary up the pattern there more not only to split up that jack but also to show rise in pitch from the ascending notes being played. other than that this file owns and is fucking hard

[oni] there isn't enough difference between the two files to warrant another difficulty in my opinion.

Kara Toprak [Scintill] - i feel like i've talked to you about this file already and the cuts i'd like to see done on it. if not then let me know so i can tell you. solid file just too long and some of the not piano stuff in the beginning can be removed

Piano Sonata in A Major, K. 331(Baq12) - the file wasn't bad but man this definitely needs a cut. there is just way to much repetition to warrant a 3+ minute file for it.

Sudden Romance (porkypink) - this file isn't bad unfortunately song choice doesn't meet the qualifications

Waltz for Zizi [Scintill] - the file isn't bad but it's a bit long and one of your weaker files in the pack so far. i'll leave it in conditional depending on submissions and final size of the pack.

we've never met but, can we have a coffee or something (XelNya) - this file is neat and its cool to see how much you're progressed from your earlier files to now. the only thing i have to say about it is that the song is long and could be cut out 21.445 to 78.475 and then from 138.505 to the end. or maybe you could keep 21.445 to 78.475 if the song ends up being too short but definitely cut out 138.505 to end

In an attempt to keep this brief, I'll explain the sections that I feel aren't clear (the sections that don't strictly have jumps going to some sort of percussion and section repetitions will be left out)

m8-15: Jumps go to low pitch piano chords + melody. I can see this getting confusing combined with the grace notes.

Last half of m15-m22: Jumps go to piano melody layered over the percussion

m23: Transition to accenting percussio layered over the piano melody to transition to make the layering transition smooth.

m24-31: Jumps go to accent piano melody + percussion whenever jumpgluts
longer than 3 are avoided

m45-48: Jumps to piano chords

m47: Single measure layering deviation to highlight the offset piano melody layered over the repeated lower octave note.

last half of m49: Jumps to piano melody layered over percussio (In hindsight this is a terrible idea and should be changed)

last half of measure 50: single measure layering deviation to highlight offset 16th melody, rest of the measure and measure 51 continue to use jumps solely for the piano chords

56-57 jumps to piano chords + abrasive percussion was the idea but I forgot several jumps on the 8ths (I have a habit of not checking submissions carefully rip)

m83: percussion layering continued from prior measures + piano chords

Part of the confusion might come from my decision to not add jumps to notes that already had grace notes the vast majority of the time (the exceptions being particularly loud cymbal/percussion hits)
the few single measure layering deviations could be considered blatant errors, but tbh I've always felt they make files more interesting. Or maybe the file is just bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yes jacks are bass kicks and they go in triplets so it only makes sense if i go all jacks or no jacks. Went all jacks to shake things up. Should be easy anyway if you can nail the other bursty sections
edit: if you still believe it's too much i'll try and think up something

I imagine this will take as long as the last one so you have 8 months which is enough time.
