I've wanted to play TWG for a while, but I've always felt uncomfortable with playing in a forum game where an error on my part could be the responsibility of a whole team's downfall... something doesn't sit well with me in regards to that....

With that being said, if people were a little nicer to me since I hadn't played the game before, I might consider it, haha.

Definitely a fun experience.

The subforum here on FFR overcomplicates it and intimidates newer players because of the super serious tone the "rules" thread gives. However, it's actually not like that at all, it's a very interesting game where you want to be as "human" as you possibly can.

I say go for it, AJ. You'd be surprised on how fun it can get trying to guess someone's intentions and pointing out contradictions.

the same could be said for all team sports/competitions. you win as a team, you lose as a team. individuals don't matter beyond what they do to help their team win.

what's more important is for no one to have hard feelings after a game or competition ends. my team won? awesome! my team lost? gg, well played. I'm not going to lash out at any of my teammates. my team lost, and we're all equally responsible.

to me, that's a culture thing. we can create whatever culture we want. join us if you'd like!

Seriously, if you don't play it, play at least one game to get a feel for it. I haven't played twg on ffr before this year, and I really regret not playing earlier because it's so much fun. Yeah, it's a bit intimidating when you start, and it can feel shitty sometimes if you lose the game for your team (see: last game, I was a wolf and died on the first day hahah), but it gives you pointers on how to improve your game in the next round.

It's not a really complex game, but in order to really get into it you need to learn how to read people based on their post style and attitude for that game. It's an awesome experience, and I definitely encourage anyone to play.

Is TWG like Mafia?

because i've played a couple of Mafia games in other forums and I was completely terrible at it, I was always singled out and lynched on day 1 or 2 despite being pro-town :/
