Smile Gastohf Amish Village / Indiana Musts

I'm not sure if we have a Travel forum or sub-forum anywhere, but I just wanted to let people who are fond of traveling know about this place.

The Gastohf Amish Village is located in Montgomery, Indiana. They have an Inn (which used to be a Red Roof Inn until they bought it and the land around it). On the property there is a flea market, and a restaurant which is upstairs from the gift store. There was another building but I didnt get a chance to wander in to see what it was. You can even take a carriage ride from the horses, it is very pleasant. I was there mainly for a wedding, and although it was HOT AS HELL! and everyone was dying of dehydration, it was a great wedding place, although I'm sure I wouldnt want my wedding there, I can pick out flaws. But it was beautiful nonetheless. Weddings, Food, Flea Markets and horses! Can't go wrong there!

If Amish people don't float your boat, Montgomery has a few select places that I think are must go-to places to eat. The best, in my opinion, Fat Boy's Pizza. Super fantastic, very fast servcie, and very polite "Southern" charm. I had a half and half Buffalo Chicken / Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. Some combinations are impossible do to the sauce they use, so if they match, you're good to mix. The taste is exceptional for a local pizza joint, and out does some of the pizza chains I know of. The other place is a mexican joint called "Mi Puebla". I give this palce a 3.8/5. Food is great, like most mexican places, beer is a bit higher than most places I've seen, and the staff is about half friendly. The waiters seem kinda dim witted and act as if they don't hear you correctly... Ever, and ask you at least twice, in my case the guy asked me 4 times if I wanted a Corona U_U. Food, again, great if you like mexican, and better if you want mexican that isnt from your town.

I would post pictures of the beautiful country side at the Inn, but my gf has a ll the photos. I'll try and get some, if not, just travel and see for yourself!

If you decide to go and are coming from the West, make sure you stop in Terre Haute, Indiana for all the restaurants you know and love. I think I ate more this past weekend than I ever have. So much stuff to eat. Cracker Barrel, Chili's, Applebee's, Starbucks, all the staple big town stuff.

Have fun in your travels, everyone!
