Ok, what is going on?
Hello, I recently came back to FFR to play when i have some free time and it's been fun again and i am even better than i used to be long ago when i played.
Over the course of the last few weeks, I have been FCing a lot of songs and sometimes when im browsing the list for songs to play I feel like I have full comboed that song already. And now I am actively paying attention, when I full combo a song, I let it save the score, then check it and it says "FC" in the list. When I refresh my browser and check the song again, it no longer has the "FC" symbol next to it. This has happened to me at least 10 times now, a few times with the same song, I have had to "FC" a song twice or even 3 times for it to finally stick. Can anyone explain? And what must I do? because I just full comboed a song that I have been trying to work on for a week and its gone now and I got pissed so I decided to post about it... |

A previous score has better accuracy with out a full combo. Ffr is no longer combo scoring, but rather raw scoring.

Re: Ok, what is going on?
I'm not playing the song for scoring, I want to see the "FC" symbol next to the songs.

Re: Ok, what is going on?
The game is set up where getting a FC isn't always a better score than a one miss score. For your FC's to show up, it needs to be your best score based off of raw scoring. Try cutting down on your boos and improving your accuracy, as it'll give you better scores which will lead to you seeing those FC symbols. Anyone else find it weird that these are their first two posts in nearly 9 years on the site?

Awe... That's no fun, why would it not show that you full combo a song when you did though, even if the score was lower... that makes me feel like i got bored again playing after knowing this @.@

Re: Ok, what is going on?
Part of the reason is because raw scoring more accurately shows a person's skill level than combo scoring. With combo scoring, you'll finish with a better score if you have 0 missed and 200 boos than a person with 10 misses and 3 boos. Even though the person in the first scenario most likely was key mashing to get the FC, they still had the higher score. Raw scoring fixed this, as people can no longer spam 4 keys on their keyboard as fast as possible to get a good score.

Re: Ok, what is going on?
If your FC score in terms of raw scoring does not surpass the non-fc score, it'll mark it as FC in the engine but it will not be a FC in the database because the raw score wasn't passed.
For example, a FC of 56,000 raw total cannot override a non-FC of 56,110. EDIT: I believe this put more meaning into a FC and it is not as easy as it once were to mash a FC if you already have a score on it.

Re: Ok, what is going on?
Correct me if I'm wrong devs:
The code that would be required to flag FC scores and permanently keep them that way would literally be 1 if block. Which brings up a very obvious question...

Re: Ok, what is going on?
Probably nobody really bothered because the source code is most likely a huge mess
