Default Cold Heart [84 or 81]

As much as I love having an 84 AAAd, it doesn't feel right having it on Cold Heart.

I would more closely relate this file to mutant corecore(81) and Ah Shwe Bah(81). Arguably the hardest part of Cold Heart is the roll/transition into the roll and maybe perhaps the bursts around 860, all of which can be easily jumptrilled.

Compared to files such as Tenimuhou(83), Hardkore Atomic(83), Grand Galop Chromatique(83), Sleepmix Strikes Back(83) and Ultrasounds!(82), Cold Heart doesn't even hold a candle in terms of density, complexity, or even length.

And to be blunt, there aren't even any gay patterns in Cold Heart, everything flows relatively* well (thx choof <3).

And as always, the pointless personal argument: I'm terrible at technical files, I don't even have an SDG on Beautiful Arrhythmia, but I AAAd Cold Heart within an hour of playing it.

Love,
rushyrulz

Seems like it was an 84 before frame fixes, then frame fixes made it much easier (and probably more boring tbh) because everything remotely hard became jumptrillable.

Seems to be the same case with Heatstroke, which will probably also be knocked down. Shame, I liked it more before "fixes" haha.

I'd have to agree with Rushy's input on this song. I haven't AAA'd yet, but it still doesn't feel like a 84. Also I hate this song, but I won't let my opinion be baised.

It's short in length in terms of the normal length of 82+ songs and as my experience, the easy stuff is my problem. There is only say 4 key points in terms of difficulty that I can think of at the top of my head, which they are at 410, 615, 690, and 904 (notes in).

I won't say more yet because I want to see other's opinions (really curious to see who wants Cold Heart as an 84)

I doubt anyone would agree with the current difficulty, it's pretty ludicrous. Tempted to contest it down to 79 or 80

If it's that low, we might as well be playing a different file haha

yeah I think 81 sounds about right. maybe low 81 because the bursts do feel much easier than the ones in tageri. However there are more of them, as well as the jacks, which could give players trouble, so i dont think it should be a <80 file.

I agree with this lol...81 seems way too low. 83 sounds about right imo

Cold Heart is indefinitely not <80, but the lowest I would put it is 81, and the highest I would put it is 82. It's still doesn't compare to Sleepmix which is an 83.

82/83 is exactly where I pitched it should be after I played Dossar's fixes

I like 82. I'd put in on par with files like Electro v2, Wraith, and -+.

Agree'd. No way Cold Heart is harder than those files.

I'd stick it as 83, 82 maybe but it's pretty consistent with the pressure with odd rhythms with some weird patterns (not all of them are weird.)

I will agree with 82 because it compares to the other files in that difficulty rating.

I put it in comparison with Ultrasounds (82) which also only has like two or three main difficulty components in it, but I'm still learning the components in files so if my opinions are wrong in a way that you can correct them, please do, it helps me learn.

Cold Heart is nothing like Ultrasounds, though. There's nothing really to compare this file in this range of difficulty. grind2 v2 is as close you can get it seems.

In the sense that Ultrasounds is a file with fast jump/stream compared to changes, jacks, and that 48th wall in Cold Heart.

I was talking more in the sense of the difficulty of both files is only ramped around a few key sections of the song.

ok so I'm home and honestly don't care to elaborate super heavily -- that mid-section's barrage of bursts is really rough, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any files in this difficulty with unrelenting technicality like this.

Exclusivity of techniques isn't an accurate rating factor though, and I understand that. With the density and overall pattern choices (which are reasonably smooth, but still pretty precise/tight), I think Cold Heart is probably fitting as an upper 82 or lower 83. 81 is way too low for this song, and yeah, 84 is admittedly too high (oh well).

I do agree with AJ -- some patterns in here are awkward enough to warrant something higher than 81 (I'm surprised nobody has mentioned those [13][14][12] patterns).

I have no idea how this could be compared to Ultrasounds! and no argument in this thread has even remotely compelled me to think otherwise.

81/82.

my 2 cents

without my 2 cents, I'd probably call it out being in high 79/80 because all my 80's scores except the select few are absolute garbage compared to my score on cold heart.

The jacks in the song aren't really an issue for everyone, because it's hand biased, and you can set mirror or not.

The only real issue is the bursts, and the two mini jumpgluts for me, because based on your mirror or not, your other hand gets the jack for the jumpglut.

The song is also short, so yeah.
