Default Final Fantasy: Theatrhythm

Fucen owns. Got it today, got home, started playing, I just forced myself to stop, welp.

If you have a 3DS, I strongly urge you to go get this, especially if you're good with any kind of music game.

Brief summary: The space between the Chaos and Cosmos (hi dissidia) is called "Rhythm", and it houses a Crystal that gives birth to music. When the forces of Chaos disrupt the balance, the Crystal's power wavers. Cosmos thus sends her warriors to increase a music wave called "Rhythmia" to restore balance and make the Crystal shine again. A bit of a farfetched plot, but that hardly matters since the gameplay and music make up the game (hurr).

Think of osu meets technika, in terms of gameplay. I don't feel like explaining it, so here's a vid.

Reds are basic taps. Greens are hold notes (if you're playing the field music stage, you also guide your receptor to hit the green dots on the holds). Yellows are slide notes, you slide your stylus in the direction that the arrow is pointing. The silver notes show that you're playing a "feature zone." If you hit them all, you access an extra stage of sorts.

There's over 70 songs, along with downloadable content (a 3DS first, woop woop).

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys rhythm games in general, or any hardcore Final Fantasy fans.

(ps I'm gonna upload some vids of the ultimate score stages and yay, first SSS rank tonight k pce)

Was actually considering getting this.
Not a big FF fan by any means but am a rhythm enthusiast and admittedly FF does have really good music for the most part, so I think I'll grab it this weekend.

Or blow it all on the upcoming steam sale.

Yep, I got this game. It's very addicting. I've already got S rank on all Ultimate scores, SS on most Expert scores, and one SSS rank on a basic score (though that will change soon enough).

It's made by indie zero, it's therefore a good game, whatever it is.

But seriously, though, I had never heard of that game before and it looks REALLY fun. I want a 3ds.

I bought the 3DS just to play this game. It is fun! I haven't perfected any songs yet, but I will soon. I despise the arrows. Once in awhile, it won't read my slides or it's just me flicking it.

How the heck do you SSS?
I've gotten a full critical and still only been given an S.

I've only been talking about it for months now. >__>

Also, I think I'm just under 20k Rhythmia. As well, how many characters have you all unlocked? For me, just 1: Ashe.

EDIT: Lol whoops. Sightread a Full Critical on "Searching For Friends" Basic. Sweeeeeeeeet.

Full critical with stoic bonus. Basically, you have to score a 9,999,999.

edit: this is pretty cool lol

Got hold of the game yesterday and loving it! Just cleared all of challenge mode on basic and a fair few dark notes have fallen, but what's that stoic bonus? Had a few full criticals here with only an S, would like to know how to get higher

Ahha, found out how to get those bonuses. SSing the Experts as we speak, will move onto the Ultimates once they're all unlocked

I haven't been playing this game recently because I bought FF IV DS version and I've been playing that. It's much more difficult than the FF IV (II) for the SNES. It also feels more difficult than the FF IV for the PS1. Slightly off topic, but to be on topic, I bought two of the four new DLC songs that recently came up.

I said "screw series mode" so I'm basically playing dark notes and that's it.

I also tried One Winged Angel Ultimate yesterday and holy shit, I got destroyed on the first stream.

I got a chance to play this thanks to a friend of mine when I went to play Technika today. It's fun as hell; I can't wait to pick it up myself.

Making you play through series mode on basic is a little harsh as its fairly easy, but at least its to mostly good music! Working on everything on expert atm in order to unlock series mode Expert and Ultimate. Everything will be SS'd by the time that happens

Well, provided I don't get done in by a few EMS songs.

EMS timing is weird because the top screen is at 30 fps but the bottom screen is at 60 fps rofl

I haven't played many EMS songs past basic, except for FF8. FF8 cutscenes are best cutscenes.
