IM ASKING YOU, FOOL.
Like I said, the cards are identical, so all thicknesses are the same too. It's probably just because the ones standing up are further away/angled. I really want to try and address all of your comments and fix as much as I can, but some things just are the way they are. I rendered all of this to the exact scale of real credit cards. It's rendered with V-Ray which calculates real-world values for geometry and lighting. In other words, if you had real cards sitting there and photos were taken under these exact conditions then every shadow and reflection and physical point would be identical to this rendering. |

wth is this one suppose to be??? I don't know why people tend to go extremely futuristic with the clothes and background. I'm pretty sure people are not going to be wearing anything like that in the near future. Ps. i think a lot of them looks really neat, but I think your is one of the few practical ones.

Honestly, your submission is the most feasible and useful. All of the others are about social networking which we already have on every smartphone opt obscure things. Yours goes into detail based on the image alone. Basically, yours is the best overall at this point.

Re: ($10,000 prize) nVidia NVArt 06: Moving Innovation
Most of these are the exact same idea a billion people have had before them..
I mean hologram watch; done. Healthcare band, done. Phone in ring, done. Melting them all together and actually pretending it's something you will see this decade is just silly, imho. A phone with transparent screen? Already exists, no? Just not produced? Hologram LIGHTER? RING? COMPUTER? EVERYTHING? The only good idea there is your card, the rest are just ideas a million people had before them for years already.. I mean, apparently within 10 years, our rings can provide: Internet, full healthcare, BMI, holograms, browsing, computering, camera. And it's run on solar cells. Yeah, ok.. 4-5 of them I don't even understand what is, and 2 of them uploaded a graphic card.. And the clock.. It's a foldable into a clock-computer which also is a phone? To be honest I have a kickass idea that will win the whole thing for sure but I don't have the time to make it since I'm working 10/h days for two more weeks.. EDIT: If anything, I'd get one of these http://challenge.cgsociety.org/nvart...nal_image/6425

There are a couple of other "multipurpose card" entries though, I dunno. (I thought I saw a couple entries, forgot)
Is it just me or at least half the entries look impractical as heck lol (though tbh, trends are weird unpredictable things) |

I'm more amazed how people upload stuff that already exists... But yeah what I thought was a neat vacuumcleaner turned up to be a headphone, I sort of gave up there..

Re: ($10,000 prize) nVidia NVArt 06: Moving Innovation
There is one other multi-purpose card.
Agreed with Mythix, a lot of the entries are just way out there. I can pretty much guarantee we will not have holographic projections in the next 10 years, or ever really. Things I thought were neat: http://challenge.cgsociety.org/nvart...ncept_art/6431 The ring one who_cares mentioned http://challenge.cgsociety.org/nvart...ncept_art/6390 and that's about it. There's still just barely over 2 weeks left to enter, but I feel like my entry is still running in the top 2 or 3 for sure. Ps the entry directly to the left of mine is one of my co-workers' lol. Polo. I still need to fix that card screen too damnit. Ps. Mythix. I work 12 hour days every single day and still made time for this. Quit your bitching. xD Last edited by darkshark; 05-31-2011 at 11:17 PM.. |
