Default Nintendo president Satoru Iwata passes away

A really sad and unexpected moment - Nintendo has just announced that president Satoru Iwata died at 55 from a bile duct growth condition: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2015/150713e.pdf

I heard about this earlier today. I was really hoping that it wasn't true, but then the news quickly spread everywhere. It was just so sudden.

He will really be missed. Rest in peace.

I was actually thinking about making a thread for this myself. So sad to hear about this. He did so much for Nintendo and everyone who plays their games. He was also a grade A programmer.

I really don't know what will happen now. It will feel weird to finish a game and not see his name in the credits next to Shigeru Miyamoto's...

55 is definitely too young to die. He's the guy that made all of our childhoods. Maybe not the first part of it, but the part of it that defined it as a childhood.

Willing to bet it'll be quite a few years before this happens. Surely he was working on some projects before he died, and once those are done we'll probably have a few years of "In Loving Memory".

RIP to a true life master.

It really was quite sudden.

Rest easy, you will be remembered for your leadership, programming some of the best known games, and just being awesome.
