Need help with flash player.
I use a mac & I can't play FFR on a browser so I have to use a standalone player, which is flash player, and I can't play on flashplayer without not being logged in & I cannot figure out how to login. Does anybody know?

Re: Need help with flash player.
Go onto the main browser of your computer and log in while making sure the Remember Me checkbox is checked. It should then be working and if not repeat this with all other browsers you have on the computer until you find which one the data is being pulled from.

Re: Need help with flash player.
I've done that, but it still doesn't work. I heard that you *need* to do it on Internet Explorer, but I don't have Internet Explorer & the newest version that works for mac doesn't even load the FFR page, it loads the page, but then like it's all glitchy and like 80% of the page doesn't show up.
I also went to my two browsers I have (Opera & Safari) and logged out of FFR, logged back in while having the 'Remember me' box checked. It still doesn't work.. I think if someone could find me an Internet Explorer that actually works for mac, because I've looked.. Last edited by Vanilla Mnm; 10-16-2010 at 08:03 PM.. |

Re: Need help with flash player.
I got a free macbook because my brother works for Apple, so I figured, why not? There's nothing wrong with it, at all, it hasn't ever had one problem. Compared to my windows computer.. that's had a million problems.
Yeah, but I think I can download Internet Explorer for Mac, I just need a link. |

Can't you use another browser, like Firefox? Never heard of FFR not working on Safari.. worked fine for me on my dad's Mac before. Certainly worked for me on Firefox too.

Re: Need help with flash player.
No, that's not what I'm talking about. I downloaded a standalone player because FFR lags on browsers for me. And I have to use Internet Explorer to login & have me be logged in on the standalone player. I can't do it on Safari & Opera.

Hm...there might be a setting in Safari's security that isn't letting it load the needed files to authenticate you. I'm not sure how to mess with Safari's settings though. I'm fairly certain that a standalone on a Mac computer would default to Safari.

Re: Need help with flash player.
Have you tried just using this link to play FFR while being on the site? If not, I don't think there's a way for you to log in, unless the flash file can read your session cookie stored on your computer and assume that you're logged in that way (Which it obviously can't by the way your story is)

This might actually be the reason, unless it has something to do with Flash Player only being able to read certain browsers or something (tbh, i have no idea) I just don't know what to fix with my settings. It says Safari is the default browser so I'm assuming Flash Player would read the default browser, but it doesn't.. |

Re: Need help with flash player.
Actually, this is probably the cause of your not being logged in while using the standalone player. As you said, it only works when you use IE to log in on the site, but not when you use other browsers.
It's more than likely because FF, Chrome and Safari store cookies to different directories, and IE stores to a directory that the standalone player can read. It's best that, in Safari (as stated in above posts) you fiddle with your security settings and look around, possibly adjust a few things as necessary and see if anything improves from there. |

Re: Need help with flash player.
Oh god, that is so borked.
You could try going to the forums on that and logging in, and then trying the standalone player... Does that work on IE still? |

Re: Need help with flash player.
Sounds almost like settings, not an un-updated flash player. We might be looking in the wrong direction.
If your browser, which other people everywhere can get to work, does not seem able to load everything, then I would think that would be the place to start looking. I know that there are a fair amount of plugins that have to be added whenever you have a new browser. You get a new computer, and the first thing to do is download Quicktime, Flash, Shockwave, other excessive plugins, etc. (Those these wouldn't help in your case. It was just an example.) Those pictures look like it is losing page formatting, and not showing pictures either, which sounds very much like something is missing in the plugin department.
