What os/build runs ffr without lag?
This is my 3rd pc in 2 years that doesnt support ffr. I've had win xp and win7 and it seems the flash version has nothing to do with the lag anymore or even the power of the pc. I currently have a double quad 3.8 ghz with 32gb ram, 2 videocards (crossfire) and a logitech illuminated keyboard. I can't pass a song on ffr without atleast 500 goods as is.
I'm looking to buy a new laptop that would 100% sure run ffr and let me aaa some fgo's, do u guys know any setup that u use or know will work without lag? My budget is pretty much around 500$ max. A laptop that has a nice keyboard for 6keys on it would be a bonus too :P. |

I've only been able to ever play FFR without lag on the worst possible PC running XP. Until standalones came along, now no lag.

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?
I can run with no lag once I set my windows 7 computer to run with a classic windows xp theme while using standalone flash player.
It seems like the transparency in the aero theme somehow conflicts with flash. Not sure why, but there is no chance my computer just isn't good enough to run ffr so it must be something else. |

Maybe it's an internet speed issue?

Not just aero, change the theme: right click on desktop, personalize, choose Windows Classic. A new laptop probably won't help FFR run any better.

Also depends a lot on what all is running in the background, etc...
So, hardware matters and software matters. The less crap you install and the more crap you disable, probably the better it's going to run. |

Pretty much do everything people said here and you should be perfect. Changing the theme to Windows Classic (or adjust for best performance for extra lag reduction), flash standalone, and setting the engine to low quality should make FFR run like a charm. This is what I did and I NEVER lag, and my specs are as follows: Windows 7 64 bit: Quad core 3.6Ghz, 8gb DDR3 1333 RAM, and a AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB graphics card.

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?
I have a pretty good gaming laptop with just 8g of ram and all this other crap, and running windows in classics with a standalone works perfectly. BUT
BUT BUT BUT? BUT! It does matter what standalone you use. I tried running Legacy on f10 and it lagged the second song I played. Flash 9 works with Legacy the best for me. I think Velo's works best with f9 as well. iono R2 = f10 R3 = ??? I haven't used that one Even then, when I am simply watching a replay on browser the engine will lag occasionally. I would love to know what actually causes FFR to lag cause damn edit: Holyfxckingshttrtdasdf ...................................................

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?
I'm running Velo's engine, Flash 9, WinXP, 4gb of ram. Minimal lag, only minor lag spikes. Good deal.

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?
It seems as though FFR's engines are based off an older OS, so that when the newer and better OS' come out it clashes and everything goes to crap. I'd say this theory is pretty well held up by the fact that Pseudo Enigma's 90's school comps play it just fine, as well as XP.
Why can't we update whatever the issue is? |
