SMB3 is indeed awesome, but it cannot compare to DKC2... I am prepared to write an essay defending my choice!!

DKC2 is good, but is really not on the level you think it is, and SMB3 might be the most influential game of all time, but it's definitely not the best... Not that I didn't wake up 2 hours before school every day in first grade so I could play it.

The best game changes all the time depending on what you need accomplished for you. I don't play FF6 for challenge, FFR for story, or Mass Effect for its music.*

* I don't play Mass Effect at all, because it blows. I just needed an example of a game with really boring tracks.

Mass Effect is amazing, but anyways...

All the good games are pretty much already said, no need to say the same things as everyone else.

I never had an SNES as a kid, so I just played through some of these games for the first time pretty recently.

Super Metroid is an awesome example of how to leave map exploration entirely in the player's hands. DKC2 is just way too much fun. Super Mario RPG is basically the only JRPG I've ever played... which is kinda sad. should probably fix that sometime.

I think everyone named most of the good ones already but some of my favorites are:

Donkey Kong Country (all 3)
Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World
Venom/Spider-Man: Seperation Anxiety
Super Star Wars (all 3)
Pitfall The Mayan Adventure
Clue
Monopoly
Kirby Superstar
Vegas Stakes
TMNT:IV
Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions
Looney Tunes B-ball (I normally don't care for sports games but I love this one)

I think that Donkey Kong, not DK 2 should be listed.

I disagree. DKC was a great game, no doubt, but DKC2 upped the bar so much. The way the game was designed was so brilliant, and the secrets were so consistent and well hidden. I think it probably pioneered the idea of having intelligent hints for all of the secrets throughout the game too. Bananas to indicate when pits wont kill you, for instance. And it kept it consistent, not just sometimes having a banana over a pit that will kill you, just for a laugh.

DKC2 > DKC1 and DKC3

I don't know if any of you are familiar with this website, but http://snesbox.com/ is a fairly new site that is basically a web browser SNES emulator where you can play practically any SNES game on their website, even has a few different features such as savestates that save to your account, built in netplay (yes, there is multiplayer with their emulator), and walkthroughs where you can save full playthroughs of any game you want and watch other members playthroughs.

DKC2 is definitely the best of all 3 in my opinion! I loved the step up it took from DKC1, the level design was awesome, the music was much better, the game was more challenging and I liked the inclusion of secret Kaizoish levels heh. DKC2 isn't my fav game of all time but it is up there. I'm actually doing a co-op on my YouTube channel cause it's awesome! XD

i've posted about it before i collect SNES titles

So far my favorite RPG on Snes is Chrono Trigger (yes, I have and played completely through FF6 (FF3 in America), I wasn't THAT impressed with it) and overall best game on it so far is DKC2 for so many reasons

Sup SNES mates!

I just wanna drop this here:
www.YouTube.com/user/hateandhatred

I recorded a shitty speedrun of the lion king ages ago.

None of them are worth anything tbh, but WR is actually in the realm of possibility for what I can do with this game.

I'll let you guys know if I attempt it!

EDIT: no starfox 2 mention? It's my personal fave.
