If you stand in a room of mirrors....
Let's say you're in a 12'x12'x12' cube with no openings or seams. The walls, floor, and ceiling are all made of completely polished mirrors with no smudges or dirt on the mirrors. You're standing in the middle of the room with a lantern. Would you....
A) Be instantly blinded by the fact that the light will indefinitely reflect back and forth, filling the room with light. B) Be instantly fried because the light will indefinitely reflect back and forth, causing the room to fill with heat. C) See yourself standing there with a lantern in the mirrors. Not blinded or fried.

C.
Your body would absorb much of the light given off by the lantern. This would prevent such a huge buildup of light from happening probably however, if there was just something like, a hanging candlt thing in such a room, then there would be nothing to absorb the light, causing energy to continually build up. Hotter, and brighter. |

Re: If you stand in a room of mirrors....
Well, I was just thinking, wouldn't the glass absorb some of the light, causing the light to eventually dissipate as the rays would get weaker and weaker?
If that was the case, nobody would be there to see or witness it. So it'd be more or less a case of the Schrödinger's Cat paradox.

Also to address this, that would also probably happen. Unless the mirrors were 100% reflective, which they usually aren't, the light would in fact dissipate.

Re: If you stand in a room of mirrors....
This situation is usually discussed using a spherical room as opposed to a prism. I'm thinking the spherical room would have a better chance at option A or B.
