fingers go huh??? where??
this might be all over the place, sry
okay so I'm having issues with my finger placement. I know everyone is different...I just wanted some opinions! I'm on a laptop right now which is kind of weird for me because I've always had a normal keyboard. BUUUUT I've been beating some of my old ranks on songs. I haven't played for a few months, then years before that. Dunno if my hand eye coord has gotten better or if my ol' lappy is helping me out with finger placement. I dunno, here's the thing. I'm constantly moving my laptop around trying to find a comfortable place for my wrist/fingers. it's weird, my fingers like...trip over each other if I go too fast?? So I have to compose myself and try again. annoying. I think I just need a keyboard. BUT THEN!!! dun dun dunnn I use only 3 fingers to play. I use my left pointer and middle and my right pointer. that's it. left hand is left arrow and down arrow, sometimes up arrow (which is how my fingers "trip" over each other probably) and my right hand is up and right arrow. I've seen people use wasd/other letters. I just need some comfier alternatives to the numpad TL;DR where do your flanges go on the tip tap board??

Re: fingers go huh??? where??
Players who play super hard songs use two hands and a setup like ASKL on letters. Eventually they pick up whatever feels the most comfortable when they play.
You're going to have a hard time doing any good on any Difficulty 60+ with one hand even with years of practice. |

best of luck! I also play a 3 finger spread and have been trying to convert to askl for years (unsuccessfully still), so more power to ya, I know it's not easy!

Re: fingers go huh??? where??
I fell victim to this trying to prove people wrong. However, I was able to make it to D5 with 3 fingers (which I think is somewhat impressive) but then you just hit a wall. Switched to 4 finger spread and took about 3-4 months practice to get to the same skill level I peaked at using 3. Long story short, if you intend to get as good as possible, just start with a spread set up that's comfortable.

Re: fingers go huh??? where??
it's so weird! my brain can't comprehend that my fingers are already in the right spot for the arrows....so my S finger keeps moving up thinking the up arrow is up thur.

Re: fingers go huh??? where??
even if it's hard to learn a new setup like spread, you may find it to be more fun and advantageous in the long run. Even starting out just try to have fun, I like to play index every now and then even though i suck at it, i don't think i'll ever really get good at it, but i can see improvement whenever i do play it x)
