July 3rd was it's release date. Gogogogogo.

Also, Battle On the Big Bridge is stupidly hard but fun on Ultimate. Failed hard on Battle with the Four Fiends though.. Right near the end too (twice).

Battle with the Four Fiends is the only Ultimate song that I'm failing on at the moment too. Battle on the Big Bridge is REALLY fun although I don't think it's too hard.

Are you playing with or without equips/items? Until I've unlocked all of the Ultimates I'm playing sans anything as I don't plan to go back to the easier songs much, if at all, after unlocking ultimate ^^

I can beat all songs on ultimate stoic level 1, but I played a whole lot haha. I played Battle with the Four Fiends over 20 times because it's definitely the hardest song on ultimate. The times I fail now are from the Chaos Shrine where the notes fly by twice as fast as Ultimate mode and my arrows start spinning around and only a few mistakes (like 5) can get me killed even with all the regen and cure that I have equipped on my level 99's.

Man with the machine gun, One-Winged Angel, Battle at the big Bridge, Saber's Edge, and Battle with the four fiends are the difficult ones on ultimate that I remember.

I wondered this myself, but thanks to the folks here, I have the answer:
If you unequip all spells/abilities and items, you gain a 2 million point Stoic Bonus.

Alright, thanks a bunch. Was wondering, since I got my first full crit last night but only an S

Does unequipping even make a difference if you full combo a song? I can see how spells keep you alive on harder songs when you're missing and such, but otherwise?

There's like one faq for this game right now, should probably read through it later to get a better idea of what everything does.

Unequipping all skills and items gives you the stoic bonus, but you lose out on a couple things during play: You don't get the extended scene in EMS, you don't turn into a chocobo in FMS, and you don't get a summon in BMS.

Likewise, having a single item/skill equipped gives you all three of those things, but you can only get an S rank.

You also lose out on all of the bonuses you'd gain, and as a result you won't kill as many enemies in BMS so less exp and items, won't go as far in FMS so less chance of getting both chests (although my level 65 Zidane makes it the whole way with no equips as he has awesome agility), etc etc.

Basically I'm playing through Challenge and Series without any equips, and then I'm sticking all of my items on for Chaos Shrine since it doesn't save scores there, and because of how the boss drops work you want to be going all out

Anyone hit an SSS on an Ultimate chart yet? 2 greats is my best so far, with a lot of SDGs >.<

Been playing a lot. 23k rhythmia, 4 people level 99, so I'm starting to go for SSS's. Already got one on ultimate. Can probably grab a bunch more, since I don't find most of the field songs very hard.

Best score probably one winged angel ultimate; 2 greats first try.

Only 11 trophies though o_O Some of these must be hard to get lmao. Also, no characters unlocked as of yet

Four fiends is pretty hard in one section, failed it first try. S'd it on my first pass though, can definitely SDG.

Anyone get to 100k rhythmia?

I'm nearly at 40k. Have been playing it here and there, and am wondering if the rewards are actually worth it or not? Do you continue to unlock songs and whatnot at higher rhythmias?

Finished SSing all of the expert series, will move on to ultimates now. Have 3 characters unlocked (vivi, ashe, locke); it gets easier once I realized I could just replay chaos shrine levels to get the shard drops over and over, though, some appear to be much easier than others. I'm not even sure I've found a single shard for all of the secret characters yet D:

Also, do the rewards get better for beating more dark notes? They seem to be getting worse, or just random, despite the fact that the levels are quite hard now and have continuous spinning notes everywhere >_>

Also, just as an fyi to those that care, I tried to SSS one of the series and got 2 SSS's in the same run, but only got an SS overall. This is pretty lame, but also pretty awesome because it means SSS'ing series is completely unrealistic and impossible so I won't bother even trying 8) (SSS'ing EMS's is stupid. The HELL is up with the timing?! I swear I'm dead on and end up with random greats and goods. On the other end of things, I can be WAY off on FMS and full critical anyway LOL)

Because of this FUCCEN thread I got all hyped and bought the game at the store when I saw it because I didn't see it anywhere else and I don't even have a 3DS. SHEIT. I'm not even sarcastic I really did lol

Way to go MN.

@ Reach, Chaos shows up as a boss in No.'s 90+ which is actually a trophy.
As well, certain shards only show up in certain level ranges:
Yellow, Indigo, Orange, and Scarlet are only in 1-25.
Silver, Green, Crimson, Red, and Turquoise are found in 1-75.
Golden, Grey, Purple, White, and Rainbow shards show up in 26-99.
Navy and Black are 51-99 only.
