I really can't imagine that it's been 7 years since my little middle-school self decided to make an account on this website.
I remember the days of trying to get into tournaments, only to realize that I had registered under the age allowed to post on the forums.
I remember the days of lurking around the pro's profiles who could accomplish my dream of AAAing "challenging" (9) songs- people like leonid and this mysterious popular guy everyone referred to as "AJ".
I remember the time when I ruined my mother's school laptop by putting Nivea cream on the arrow keys to get better traction when doing rolls.
I remember the always active profile chat; a strange strange place it was.
I remember running my own tournament and getting grounded during that period, giving control to someone else, and then deciding that I could host it again after making my parents breakfast the following day.
I remember when MP was full on the legacy engine.
I remember when the site went down.
I remember waiting... checking every day to see if it came back.
And then it came back, I was so happy.
Now and then I check up here.
Much has changed- for the better.
But one thing has stayed the same...

Beautiful. I Remember when the site went down, but i had no account. Then, i saw FaZe Apex upload a video, on ffr, seeing it was back up i almost pissed myself and i have been binge playing all the songs every day ever since then.

7 years ago i wasnt doing anything worthwhile. now im doing nothing worthwhile except for hating ffr for ever closing down and making my skill drop due to lack of site server. id b a ffr guru EZ by now, instead im a 70/100 Joe...

Uh huh. Gurus don't make excuses, they make stepfiles. They sit there and work on upping their game for hours, damaging their wrists and forearms in the process. They figure out what's wrong with their game and where they're lacking, then go play nothing but songs filled with their weak points. They constantly push their limits by increasing the speed to where they can hardly read it anymore, then break their limits by physically adjusting to the increased demand in response time. I'm not a guru, and I wouldn't be even if FFR never went down. You're not a guru, and I can't judge as to whether or not you'd have become one if the site never went down. What I can judge, though, is that saying you'd get to Guru "EZ" doesn't indicate to me the sheer level of willpower and insane amount of effort it takes to push yourself to that level. Perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe you were just kidding around and I misread you. In either case, what I said still holds true. If you're interested in becoming a guru, the only thing holding you back is yourself and the amount of work you put in. Go gettem, bro!
