WHY (got the good on the last 20 notes or something)

I had like 3 goods on this along time ago. So pretty happy I finished it off.

Also I've been curious what is the general range of d6 scores because the scores posted in d6 rivalry by some people feel like d7 so I am getting a bit confused. (or I could just be the low d6 person not understanding some of the scores)

I know what you mean omega. I mean if you are getting SDG's on songs 90+, 9 goods on slashmaid, 6 goods on J'ai, AAA on HA and shit how is that D6? I thought i was mid D6 but judging at how people are still in D6 that are WAY better than me i guess im low low D6 now haha

One must have 90+ SDGs on pretty much everything in order to be D7. You can't just have one/two wtf scores on some files, you need to be consistent.

How many FGO aaas do you need to be in D7? Serious question for like OWA, AJ, etc
Because i have ZERO, why should i be put in a division/up against people with 15,20,25 fgo aaas? Like what... XD

This is a factor to consider, but also keep in mind that someone at that level would have already posted several scores showing D7 level.

If you don't have many FFR scores but you have many stepmania scores clearly showing ridiculous speed etc. you are D7. If I had a scorewipe, I would still be D7.

Division placement discussions are not worth having in this thread, there's a lot more than just considering a single score, it's about determining the consistency of said scores, determining the good scores and comparing the skill set of that score with other scores to see if they line up, assessing overall consistency in FCs/AAAs/SDGs/low SDGs, assessing the specific songs themselves, etc.

I will assure you: anyone who is simply assuming that division placement occurs off of a single score and nothing else is completely incorrect. With that being said, single scores are often the foundation/starting point of a placement, and surely they're not going to be arbitrarily ignored if it's a disparity compared to other level ranks (see: KrazyKitsune).

SK8R: I'll assure you that you're likely not mid-D6 given your scores, but the scores that you've outlined certainly would take further assessment than just simply saying "oh, automatically D7".

That's not what this thread is about, though.

but I digress. Just realize that there's a lot more work involved for people who aren't clear cut and don't have a foundation that points them to a particular division.

Obviously no. When underscores was talking about "wtf scores", he didn't mean AAAs. Examples: I have a few D7-like scores (namely 5-0-1-1 on Stinger and 7-0-0-3 on Future Invasion), but you can't make the argument that I'm D7 lol. I would need better overall scores in the high 80s/low-mid 90s range in order to be in the that picture. Of course, AAAing either Stinger or Future Invasion would put someone in the discussion for D7 even if some of their other scores aren't what is usually thought of as D7 (see Josemba).

Theoretically someone can have zero AAAs and still be D7 if their scores are good enough.

D6 covers a large array of skill. There is a noticeable difference between those on the low end and those on the high end. Kind of a poopy deal, but there really isn't much that can be done to counter it.

The only thing that can be done is hat has been done in the past, sub-divide larger divisional skills into smaller ones; unfortunately, continuing to do this will eventually create smaller and smaller divisions, and, if we want to continue a path of unique files in tournaments (not necessarily a requirement), it will require that much more work.

Being perfectly honest: FFR users have gotten quite complacent with a divisional system, when most rhythm game tournaments don't have more than two flights (lower/upper). Most tournaments are just seeded brackets and you just progress further and further in.

I'd love to experiment with a four-flight round-robin style tournament where lower and higher level players all exist in the same bracket and then eventually expand into a division that more tightly represents players of the same skill, but that's a totally different thing to consider altogether. If I had it my way, I would just love a long, on-going, one-division gauntlet that starts off easy (like your typical D2 start) and just progresses harder and harder until you reach the end-game of D7, with the songs increasing in difficulty very quickly (as fast as a day or two). Unfortunately, this doesn't support people with tight schedules.

Realtalk though it is a kinda derpy file, I'll concede that.

That said, it's intentionally derpy.
I didn't like any of the existing mid-80s stamina file options in the game (stuff like Kidney Stone), so in my opinion it fills a nice space in the overall difficulty scheme of FFR.
Plus I like the song.
