Default The 2011 Canadian International AirShow.

==INCOMING WALL OF PHOTOS==

Who went to the CIAS this year besides me? For those who do not know what it is, it's an annual 3 day event that marks the end of the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) that takes place on the labour day weekend, which is the one that just passed. It's a sign of the end of summer, and an excuse for different nationalities to show off their air power. Typically an airshow will feature jets, large aircraft, a demonstration team and some intriguing looking aircraft, as well as some vintage aircraft.

This thread is for people to post their photos if they have any, or comment about them, etc.

I'll start with a handful of my photos:

V-22 Osprey:

Misty Blues all female Skydiving Team:

Mike Wiskus:

Air Cadets:

MIG-17:

Heavy Metal Jet Team:

Lancaster:

Pete Mcleod:

Rick Volker:

A-10 Thunderbolt II:

CF-18 Hornet:

Manfred Radius:

Pete Mcleod vs Rick Volker air race:

Snowbirds:

If anyone wants more photos of any of these performers, just feel free to pm me or post on this thread - I have plenty more of where all of these came from.

Sweet pics. I like all of them and probably will like the ones to come soon in the future.

The airports are Pearson Intl Airport all the way in the northwest end of the city, Billy Bishop Airport at center island, and then there's a couple small ones north of the city such as Buttonville Airport near the DVP and Markham Airport along Markham Road I think it is.

Only small planes can take off in places that are not pearson.

Wow, amazing shots Terry. The one I really liked the most was that Manfred Radius one because of how long and skinny those wings are. If I had the chance to get to ride one of those planes, it would be that one just because it looks really sexy. I can not wait to see next years international airshow pictures because it seems to get better and better every single year. By the way, I am curious about something, do you happen to have pictures from like the year maybe 2000? I am curious how those planes would look like compared with ones you see today.

Unfortuneately I didn't start taking photos until 2009, but the quality difference is pretty striking:

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=112136

There is 2009's thread.

As for Manfred Radius, he flies a sailpllane without an engine, he starts his perrformance by being towed into the air, and then cuts the line he's on, turns on smoke on both wing tips, and uses wind and momentum to fly.

Very nice pics man.

This is happening soon so I'll be getting a few pics hopefully, from my driveway that is. They will most likely be flying over the Niagara area.

Interesting fact about the Thunderbolt II: The aircraft is designed to fly with one engine, one tail, one elevator and half a wing torn off. a testament to it's durability.

NetJet, do you have an email I can send them to? I can forward you a set of 3 zips that have 184 photos.
