Gears of War
Just wanted to say, I am very happy with my purchase. And apparently a()lot of other people are too. Fun game.
For my opinion on the game read: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox...w/R107045.html Not me, but someone who shares my sentiments. |

Re: Gears of War
it was a pretty fun game, nothing spectacular, but definitely not boring. It's worth a buy if you're into FPSs and enjoy playing them online. Story is okay, a little cheesy at times, but the dialogue throughout all the missions is quite amusing.

Re: Gears of War
Well, no matter how good you are at shooting people in the head in Halo, you need strategy to win, even in a free-for-all game.
And I don't just mean strategy like "wait here, they'll come to us." I mean strategy like "Player A stay in BR3, player B/C stay in BR2, player C stay at BR1." Obviously a little more complicated, but I haven't played that game for such a long time. Well, sometimes you can just win by shooting, though, but that's only because the other team sucks, and that's going to happen in FPS a lot. |

Re: Gears of War
So now here I am, after seeing some previews of GoW, and im needing a new system.
For all its faults, do I wait out for a PS3, Do I submit and buy a 360 for Halo 3 (Eventually) and GoW, Or do I dishonor my family and buy Wii? (My Dad used to work for a company that made SNES controllers, then they suddenly told them to stop making them. Alot of money lost to my dads company ) |

Re: Gears of War
hahahahahahahaha.
It was working one day. I let my roommate play it for about a week, and then it doesn't turn on again. This is why you should never get a roommate. |

I saw the commercial for this when I went and saw Borat and this game looks intense.
I'll be sure to make friends with a kid who has this game so I can steal it, beat it, and break it. |

Re: Gears of War
I don't know if it was the special edition or not, but the price was 70 dollars. That's insane. I didn't see another box for GoW though, so I'm guessing that there isn't a cheaper version.
$70 is just crazy.

This game kicks lots and lots and lots and lots of ass.
At least, the Co-op Hardcore mode does. |

This is the only reason I regret getting rid of my 360.

Re: Gears of War
At first, I didn't like this game. I watched my two friends play it for a couple of hours, and when one of them let me play, I found it to be a bore. I felt trapped in a tedious world where you did the same stuff over and over again. However, after giving it a second chance, I like GoW a lot more now for some reason. Still not up to the par I set for it, but it's pretty good.
