I don't quite see the point about having monstruous graphics on a rhythm game, unless you play with background videos and characters. Maybe it's possible for the SM5 dev team, but I don't think it's quite necessary.

Stepmania can be easily setup to play in HD resolution. Only problem is, there is no theme which have graphic files in required resolution. Everything is to small and ends up scaled up. And scaling up = blur.

 SM is HD and if it's not you just need to make the graphics it uses HD but I'm pretty sure they already are. |
