Chrome to drop default Flash support by the end of the year
http://www.pcworld.com/article/30708...ted-sites.html
The writing's been on the wall for some time, which was part of the reason I left for a year and change. IIRC the standalone runs through the abominable Internet Explorer, and with the release of Windows 10 even that's being phased out, or at least re-branded with something called Edge. Of course, you can still opt-in to Flash plugins, but as FFR creeps towards its 14th birthday (!), it's clear that a transition needs to happen sooner rather than later. |

EDIT: Not that I'm dismissing the need for a non-flash engine

Re: Chrome to drop default Flash support by the end of the year
for the record, even adobe re-branded their flash professional program, which is now known as animate cc
still essentially the same thing, but they're moving away from the dreaded "flash" branding in favour of something that doesn't sound obsolete
