so i finally sent fixes to the 3 files i have in cq, glad to be done w them because i actually hate the files now lol

for the star hill, the file crashes my 3.95 in gameplay mode but opens fine in ddream as well as the builtin editor. let me know if you encounter any issues with the file while reviewing it - i think it might have something to do with all the bpm changes

Okay so this is a question for admins:
So basically the file I sent (OmochiMochip Pe-ta-ta-Turn) was basically the last 2 minutes of the song and I have now completed a second file with the first minute of that same song (which is much, much less difficult). I've seen this done on FFR before; can I have my first file of the second part of the song be [Heavy], and submit the second file of the first part of the song as [Light]?

That seems more like a version 1 and version 2 sort of deal as opposed to the same mp3 of different difficulties.

Even that's not set in stone, as "version" was typically used to denote takes of songs done by different stepartists. Part (number) initially seems like a good idea at a glance, until you think about the fact that the total length of the songs is relatively short in their own right.

Seems like something that might have to be checked case-by-case.

EDIT: What exactly prohibits those pieces of the song being put together in a single audio file? The length between the two submissions seems more than reasonable for a single track.

these all look like they were entered on the backend and just need someone to publish them, which would bring the count for july/august 2016 to 34.

Thanks for pointing that out. July/August 2016 is now showing up as 34 songs. Also, every stepartist who submitted to that batch period should own their songs now. Submissions for July/August 2016 close 11:59 PM EST tonight.

So all but one of the files gameboy42690 looked over for Pending Fixes were Accepted without an outstanding issue for me to look at; this was also updated on the BSE (it's up again now, earlier today there was a config issue I fixed). Aggressor is something I'll need to cover.

A Dichroic Glass Snafu - Accepted, although there was a recommendation to change the minijack at 35.196
Ant IDM - Accepted
Death Moon - Accepted
Progressive jikuu shoujo! Urashima Taroko-chan! - Accepted
Slashmaid - Accepted
Time to Sleep - Accepted

Please update the submission on the BSE with the permission image link and permission details.

I looked through the submissions for January/February 2016 again and it turns out that batch has 22 submissions, not 17. The following 5 files are now displaying on the BSE site:

• Space Threat was submitted Jan 9, 2016 10:43 PM for January 2016.
• Owen The Speedster vs. Jerod The Drummer was submitted Jan 18, 2016 4:58 PM for January 2016.
• Allegiance was submitted Jan 31, 2016 3:23 AM for January 2016.
• Shotgun Senorita was submitted Feb 9, 2016 6:14 AM for January 2016.
• Sis Puella Magica was submitted Feb 9, 2016 6:14 AM for January 2016.

I'm going to bring these files over to psychoangel691 so she can start making the threads for the public January 2016 set threads.

So basically, the whole song is 3 minutes long and I intended to only do the last 2 minutes at first since it was the part with the most energy and at the 1m mark it basically stopped for a split-second, making it easy to cut in two. Though, there is almost no time in between the two parts.

I've now done a second file with the first minute of the song (which isn't included in the first file), and it is much, much less difficult. (I'd say it's like the difference in between a difficulty 30 and a difficulty 75) I basically did it in the same format as Still Blastin' (only much harder).

September/October 2015 has one set left (Set 3), and July/August 2015 has two sets left (Sets 1 & 2) all of which are currently assigned. I'll start assigning for November/December 2015 now.

I've also pinged the remaining assigned Primary Judges for July/August 2015 so they can give me an estimate of when they can finish.

The Active Sets subforum looks considerably smaller now so the January/February 2016 threads should be coming sometime in the near future as well.

Note the following changes have been made on the BSE:
Moved from November 2015 to Official Tournament Batch
- Koi No Sibou Flag
- Super Soaker
- OWA Raged at Kurorak for Making OWA Raged at Skeletor

This means November 2015 only has 8 files, of which there are two sets with four files each which match up with the threads.

Default Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v3

I have a question about what conditional queue means:

My file for Welcome to Planet Urf is currently conditional queued. It got an easily passing rating (8/10) with the following comment:
Quote:
File’s fine but the spots where the could be jumps really stands out since it doesn’t match the ‘oomph’ the song has in those sections, especially the ending. White notes to the vocal sounds were pretty neat. Gonna star it since I think added jumps is all it really needs, if you don’t think so after looking at it again then you can leave it as is.
As well as three suggestions for places to layer said additional jumps in.

I thought the song suited an easy file, so my chart as it was originally submitted was a low-teens difficulty file with single arrows that just follow one melody. I tried adding the jumps in as instructed but doing so increases the difficulty dramatically, bring it from like a 12 probably up to around a 30. Ultimately I felt this changed the file too much, and I only added some single notes to the parts that needed more "oomph" along with some minor technical improvements. Overall the file I would prefer to resubmit is still very easy and doesn't have the layered jumps.

I'm not sure what conditional queue means for an 8/10 file with nothing objectively wrong with it - I thought conditional queue was for files that were structurally sound but had some glaring technical errors that need to be addressed, so my question is, what exactly is a file like this going to be judged on when it's resubmitted from conditional queue? The judge DID say that I could not add the jumps if it felt wrong, and it definitely felt wrong... will the easy file have a chance of being re-accepted?

My file for Oprah Shmup is in a similar place, conditional queued with notes that ask me to add like 10 levels of difficulty.
I can submit the harder version of both these files if that's what conditional queue is supposed to do, but I think in both cases the file is too different from its intent and not as enjoyable with the changes. Wat do?
