i have been dating my girlfriend since 10th grade & it's been 3 years, trust me i know exactly how that goes. basically, as funmonkey said, the only thing that should matter in that whole situation is her opinion. if you don't like her enough to change a smallish thing then why even bother with having an 'issue' about it?

In a working relationship a bit of adaptation is necessary. Not changing yourself entirely, but learning to shape your way of being considering the other person's desires and needs is the solution imho. This is not the case though, as your girl is getting her panties in a bunch for something that is objectively harmless.
