Default Iron and Wine concert

Updated:
I was wrong about it being at the Chaifetz. Turned out to be at the Pageant. Makes more sense, because the Pageant is a cooler place for a concert. And Iron and Wine I don't think is a big enough band to fill a big stadium.

Anyway, the concert overall was meh. Disappointing.
He played an acoustic set alone, with 3 or 4 songs. And he should have stayed with that because then I could have listened to him all night.

But Sam has a new band. They began rehearsing 2 weeks ago.
The first few songs were fun, and I was getting into it.
They sounded great. But I hated what they did.
I went with my bud Hanna who is a big listener of Iron and Wine, and she didn't recognize anything until she listened to the words.
Other than changing the way things were played, they just did way too much jamming. Between almost every song they calmed it down and just started playing some 5-8 minute instrumental.
And when they came back on stage for an encore, they didn't play what the crowd wanted to hear. I heard at least 8 people loudly shout Boy With A Coin (from all around) and more people around me that I could hear that wanted to hear that. But I guess the new band doesn't know it. They chose a different mellow song.

So yeah, I was quite disappointed. So was Hanna, and her family, and my other friends who were there scattered about the Pageant.

Sam Beam needs his old band back. :C

Tomorrow night (Saturday, Nov 12) I'm going to see them. :O
Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. My friend in Iowa saw them a couple of weeks ago and he said they were phenomenal live.

(video not particularly interesting)

I can't wait. Going with a few of my friends.
I don't particularly listen to them a whole ton, but I do have Shepard's Dog on my iPod.

Opinions? Comments?

Prepare yourself for hipsters. The hot female kind.
Never really listened to a lot of Iron & Wine except I have seen that music video like 3 times, sounds good and all, but I suffer from the non-conformist-superiority complex that doesn't allow me to fully enjoy music that my friends listen to :/

Also stuff like this should be posted in Media.
