Default Zelda Wind Waker hd

You guys are not biased. I never played the original. What are your recommendations about this?

Cosmo's been playing the crap out of it.

Looks... like the original.
To be honest.

Wind Waker the original was a super underrated game though so I don't really think you can go wrong.

If you NEVER played Wind Waker, please pick this one up.

I highly recommend this. The excuse of "slow boat travel" should not be an excuse anymore since they give you an option to go faster now.

Also, if I recall, Nintendo was actually smart and said "no" to motion controls for this game. It's strictly for the gamepad or pro controller.

If you've never played the original, you should still play this. It's my #2 favorite Zelda game, and one of my top favorite GameCube games. A lot of people complained about the sailing, but I didn't mind it since I actually like the sailing. I plan on buying this tomorrow since hey, Wind Waker in HD, and so I get more use out of my Wii U. It should keep my busy until Super Mario 3D World.

If I had a Wii U I'd probably play this while I wait for a Majora's Mask re-release

Last I checked this still leaves you at the mercy of the RNG gods, and even then if you're not one of those people who played the original and used no walkthroughs you'd quite possibly miss it.

Still though, looks like a damn amazing remake. If it didn't require buying a Wii-u I'd consider it. And I hate the look of Windwaker.

Re-releases happen all the time. Sure, annoying, but if the marketing see's more money they can make from a product that's more than 10 years old, then by goodness they will try to sell it.

Also, we must be lucky, most re-releases tend to be nothing more but some slight texture upgrade and having widescreen available for a game that never was designed for widescreen. This one actually went out of it's way to revamp the graphic engine powering Wind Waker while adding some new mechanics to make the game more interesting.

A lot of re-releases don't do this, haha.

Did they fix any of the major bugs? I've been wondering what this would do to speedrunning with the sped up boat traveling and stuff.

They would do the obvious... Treat them as two separate games.

I bought this today and have been playing it for a little bit, and the new lighting and shadow effects are fantastic. Especially at night when stuff glows like the enemies eyes and stuff. Some stuff is sped up like the text, and Link climbs ladders faster from what I've noticed so far. It's definitely not a slight re-texture like Ocarina of Time 3D was. I really love the remastered music too! I like the Hero mode option too, but I'm playing the normal mode first.

What? Why?

Also MN:
I for one loved Wind Waker on the GC, Highly recommend it, it's fun as fuck and lots of replayability.

I went as far as to play through the entire game once and then again because then all the Hyrulian text is then translated into English.

I don't like the Wii/Wii-U but if you're OK with it then go for it.

Well alright. I, for one, am totally convinced. I'm picking this up tonight along with a strategy guide if there's one.
