Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
I won't be able to play for awhile. Maybe once I'm reastablished in New York I will be getting back into the swing of things.

the cash tables are definitely not rigged tho. i see one outers on a regular basis (i play/deal live 4-5 times a week). it happens, and its going to happen more often when youre playing 3x as many hands per hour or whatever the online:live ratio is. i play hi lo strictly to Bang the double nut gut straight flush draw one outer and scoop da motha ****a |

I play 1/2 at the casino here every once in awhile and I can tell you right now it's a lot softer than 0.25/0.5 online. Hell, it's softer than 0.1/0.25. It's pretty easy to spot the fish and avoid the sharks, and people are pretty spewy. Only problem is the rake can be pretty brutal, depending on where you're at. Lumphobo; 15k? Jesus Christ dude. Ride that heater. My only note of advice: Set limits on your losses, esp. if you're moving up and quit faster than a fiddler if you hit your loss limit and drop down.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
the heat continues... on a serious note do i have to pay taxes on this shit? id really rather not. i don't think i have to either its coming from offshore accounts and they dont automatically take anything out.
EDIT: i'm playing high stakes sngs and consistently winning. my roi is barely dropping at all from 47% which is unreal Last edited by lumphoboextreme; 02-2-2011 at 07:49 PM.. |

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
In Canada, no, not unless you're understood to be a professional gambler (I am not, currently anyway), so I don't pay taxes.
You're an american though, so yes you have to pay taxes. The fact that it's offshore doesn't matter an ounce. As far as I know you have to report your winnings, and your losses. Shitty.

Re: FFR poker league -ongoing-
Dunno how tax evasion works in the states. You could try not to pay tax on it, but if you get caught I would imagine you would be in shit.
E.g. in Canada, I can choose to not pay taxes on a lot of stuff and potentially get away with it, but if I get audited and they see I haven't payed taxes I'm screwed so hard it isn't even funny.
