Ideas for Events and for Drawing New Members (& a brief message)

(I was just about to make this post in "We Can't Keep This Up." Sorry if I'm carrying on with a debate that has been rightfully stopped, but I would still like to make my opinions heard. I left in the quotes I was using because my responses are integral to my entire message.)

Dear fellow forum-goers:

Do what it takes to get in your comfort zone. Listen to your favorite music, do jumping jacks, find and read an uplifting news article, or put on a Pokemon hat and turn it 135 degrees. Anyone will be more likely to make friendly posts while in the right state of mind.

Forgive me if I'm glossing over issues you've had with other users in the past, but I truly believe you would benefit from initiating communication with others with an optimistic outlook. When I said post ideas, I meant small specific ideas, like events or other things like that (not necessarily competitive events), to slowly bring us back to a happier state of mind. Also try to come up with ways to get our site back out into the world to attract/reattract members.

Please post any constructive ideas you can come up with. From invading a mostly-abandoned AIM chatroom to posting flyers at local arcades, I think there are many ways for us to lure in some new faces. For those of us already visiting the site, events (in-game and otherwise) are always a fun time. Let the brainstorming begin!

The tagline may be a bit tough to sell, but didn't we all get hooked somehow? Games which give players ample opportunities to one-up themselves are amazingly addicting. If someone checks out the site and plays the game for at least an hour, I think there's a pretty good chance he or she will stick around.

My thoughts have always been on expanding our game base from 1~2 games. FFR, SIU, and what else could we do? I don't know. We could create more Rhythm game clones, or develop something fun and unique.

I always thought making an FFR tower defense game somehow would be kickass. No idea how it'd be set up, but it would be pretty cool to play.

And then a fun, secret mode called "The Wall". You get sixty seconds to buy the **** out of everything in the store to defend yourself, but it doesn't matter because you're ****ed anyways. If you do manage to get past the wall, however, little dossars come out and eat at your defenses, leaving you naked before the second wave.

It would be cool to actually "defend" against the songs though. Things with 300BPM stream... the lulz that would ensue, oh god. Have multiplayer matches, and I think half of the site will die of laughter.

How is doing a collab event with a site that isnt anything/isnt going anywhere going to bring in new people?

*whimper wall* is the final boss. Only unlocked when you 100% complete EVERY chart in the game. (implying all of the songs in FFR are converted to the tower defense game)

I never played MeTrivia, but I recall it being quite popular. Perhaps any non-rhythm games could utilize FFR's music, credits, or tokens in unique ways? Otherwise I think there's little incentive to visit FFR instead of Facebook or addictinggames.com.

Quick, someone call up Darkshark! Haha. In all honesty, I think a widely-aired commercial would be outside the budget constraints of a small nonprofit.

I'd think the game would only have maybe 100 songs total, not sure. If it was all 1000+ it would be cool though.
