Re: Ingame Song Information
I have a few Chrono Trigger remixes in the works that I'll be sending in either this batch or in a future one...

Re: Ingame Song Information
I still cannot believe how few AAA's Flesvelka has.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Just got through my levelranks and played the newer files. Anyone agree with these?
Lives Without Meaning: 10 -> 9 bitmapstar: 3 -> 4 Steel for Pappa: 4 -> 5 Interlude: 9 -> 10? (not entirely set on this change, but I definitely think the first three should be put in place) |

No opinion on the two easy songs... I don't understand lower level difficulties very well. Interlude felt like a 9 to me. The jumpstream was a bit tricky, but not VC worthy. The jacks are very simple. Also... any chance Flesvelka is a 12? I think it has been discussed, but after whoring that song for a long time it feels quite 12ish to me.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Flesvelka? 12? roflno.
Also, I really feel honki's minijacks just weren't enough to make it a 12, for the record.

Re: Ingame Song Information
I was a bit surprised at Honki's change myself, but it definitely was at the top of the 11s.
Interlude's idea was based off of the higher density jumpstream areas as well as the random mini-jacks all throughout, but I couldn't really find much else to give it a 10 rating. I just wanted to see if anyone else agreed with me, is all. It's probably fine as it is with the C rating. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
I thought Interlude was low VC material when I played it as well. Even aside from how dense the jumpstream was at times, the bpm seemed to be pushing the VC range as opposed to mid-high C.
honki and Flesvelka are both FMOs, although personally I think it's hilarious that there's so much talk about these two files when they're the only two un-AAA'd FMOs in my levelranks hahaha (I know honki is FGO now, I just don't agree with the bump) |

Analyzed 10 - > 11 Ready To Go 9 -> 10 Just because they're both more difficult than songs of the higher level. In Analyzed case it's Puzzle, Choprite, Novo and in Ready To Go's case it's Dot Death, Be Princess, Carousel Paradise, a few more but I think that's a good deal of charts... |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Some 9 opinions:
ETAD is much harder then on the list. Despite the slow BPM, the jumpstream can be difficult for those who play index (although that's not me) and even without it can get somewhat tricky. Teh Tricky Techno is WAY too easy. 9 -> 8 Forsaken Neon is almost completely 8ths, and thus should be a tad lower (though still a 9). |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Teh Tricky Techno has awkward patterns, and its probably similar in difficulty to Yoshi's cookie. So its still a 9
Katharsis should be in Classical genre. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Agreed with both
Also just noticed Wind Waker Unplugged is in Classical instead of Arcade, any particular reason for this? edit: lol nvm, I was gonna back this up with the fact that all TGWPs are in Arcade but apparently those have been moved lol |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Sometimes songs fit in more than one category, but we try to fit it to the more-related category if possible. Some VG songs are just far too orchestral to be "arcade" and fits the "classical" mantra a lot better. The distinction isn't always clear though.

Re: Ingame Song Information
So, I was watching Kayla play a bit of FFR today, and she stumbled upon Jurs' OP, which is labeled an 8.
...does anyone else disagree with that rating? The last bits of broken stream at the end of the file are pretty fast -- definitely upwards of 200 BPM 16ths, and some little snippets of runningmen within the quick streams. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Probably not my place to speak about this but... I was thinking that Over The Frail Dream seemed a little hard for a 9... Maybe a very hard 9? :P

As you can see on the list, Over The Frail Dream is like a top-level 9 already. Also, it's been stated 1,000,000 times, but: Time To Eye - 12 -> 11 Also, Jurs OP - 8->9 Death Piano should be higher then RATO, but nobody else agrees with me on that XP |

Re: Ingame Song Information
I've agreed with Time to Eye for such a long time, but everyone throws a fit when it gets changed!
Also, the DP vs. RATO situation -- it's very hard to judge where these files belong when only a handful of people can actually manage to score on the file well enough to get some usable scoring data. The general consensus between those who can do well on both DP and RATO believe that RATO is harder. It's contestable because both areas have sections that incredibly difficult to full combo, but RATO seems to be a bit more frequent with some of the 48th note bursts (which, mind you, are 50 TPS rate, or 25 each hand for jump-trilling) and huge jumpstream sections. I personally find DP easier to score on than RATO. |
