Default a very chill piece......

https://soundcloud.com/suimega/u44pfijz8wyb
Something I'm clearly not used to do but I'd really love to make more stuff like that
a structured drum line!
recurrent chords!
a NOT-progressive music!

it's refreshing to make! but I'm actually surprised I had the resources to work out a track like that to begin with

I think it's a really nice juxtaposition between the percussion and the rest of the track. It almost has a Super Monkeyball vibe to it ^~^

i really like it. One thing i feel like i should mention to make this track perfect; is de-compress the snare, along with removing its reverb. I Feel like it is a little bit to punchy, and the reverb makes the snare present through out the entire song. Other then that, i honestly think it sounds pretty amazing!

I kinda disagree, I feel like the snare fits in a... the only word that comes to mind is a 'satisfying' frequency range. It sounds nice to my ears. I feel like saying though that the kick could have a punchier attack, but even then I feel that the kick is sitting just fine the way it is in the mix. Perhaps reduce the low end on the sides and keep it more centered?

can we start a go fund me page to get Scylax some music equipment?

(i have quite a decent collection of music equipment, because its really the only thing i do in my free time,)
so i can recommend some good pieces of hardware on a lower kinda budget, but just keep in mind; music equipment is expensive as balls. Here is my top 5 list of stuff i recommend)

1) Alesis V25, V49, or V65 (great midi keyboard, with 4 knobs, 8 drum pads, 25-65 keys, depending on which version you get, a mod and pitch wheel, up octave and down octave, each can do 3... and 4 selectable bank thingys

2)Akia Midi mix (basically for mixing songs, or doing live performance, can record 8 tracks, adjustable panning, volume, and 2 random other knobs i dont know, and bank left & right if you are mixing & mastering a song)
and a master thing on the right

3)Numark mixtrack 3; Great if you are in a writer's block, but you still want the feeling of music creation.

4) Launchpad mini; same idea, different hardware piece.

5)Akia Mpd218 drum pad
Great for making soul-filled drum patterns. (in my own opinion, when making a genre like lo-fi hip hop, perfectly placed/timed drum samples make the song worse, because it gives the feeling it was kinda digitalized, but when its played by a human, it is slighty off beat, but sounds just perfect.)
