Default 8th Official FFR Tournament - Final Round!

Welcome to the Eighth Official FFR R1 Tournament. This tournament is for players of all levels, from the slowest of keytappers to the titans of keyboard smashing - all players are welcome! The exciting news about this tournament? This will be the first Official tournament to use raw scoring! This means your score will be taken before the combo bonus is added in. This is going to make this tournament a lot different from officials in the past in terms of competition.

To sign up, go to http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ent/signup.php Make sure you click the signup button on the page. Just going to the page alone WILL NOT sign you up. Posting in this thread WILL NOT sign you up.
Sign-ups will end on Saturday, January 19th at 11:59PM Servertime.
*If the signup button doesn't work for you for some reason, just send me a PM and I will manually add you* The expected start date is Wednesday, January 23th at 12:00 AM Severtime.

Tournament Rules and Overview:

-In this tournament, there will be six divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, Masters, and Guru. When you sign up, I will place you in one of these divisions based on your accomplishments in FFR--you cannot just "sign up" for any specific division, so don't even bother saying which division you want to be in. There is NO LIMIT to the number of spots in this tournament.

-To sign up, go to http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ent/signup.php. Make sure you click the signup button on the page. Just going to the page alone WILL NOT sign you up. Posting in this thread WILL NOT sign you up.

-When the first round of the tournament starts and with each new round after that, I will announce the main song for each division. Your goal is to get and submit a higher score on your song than your opponents.

-There will be 8 rounds in this tournament, each one week (7 days) long.

-You must have at least 250 games played on 75 different, fully played songs to enter this tournament.

- In the event of a tie in a non prize round, all will go on. If there is a tie in a prize round, there will be a tiebreaker song. You will have an extra 24 hours past the end of the round to submit your score on the tie breaker.

- If you do not submit a score by the end of the round, you will be considered to have gotten a score of negative infinity on the song. Those who have a score of negative infinity when the round ends will be eliminated, regardless of elimination cutoffs.

- Don't bother trying to cheat; you'll be caught and immediately disqualified. Trying to secretly play in a lower division than you should be in by means of alternate accounts, or by any other means is CHEATING. Cheating will not be tolerated, and any evidence of cheating will result in disqualification. Also note that trying to bend the rules or trying to find loopholes will get you disqualified.

- We hold every right to ignore the entrance of certain individuals who we feel are more prone to the potential of cheating. If we say you can not participate, you can NOT participate. Our judgment on this is final and absolute.

- The end time of the round will be noted within the thread for that corresponding round. After that time, the round is over and no more scores will be accepted.

- Be respectful to staff, tournament hosts/helpers and other users. Users that are causing trouble may be removed from the tournament and even possibly given a ban at the staff's discretion.

- If you have an issue with a placement, whether it be your own or someone else's, please PM me about it. We really don't need arguments in the thread and I know mistakes happen, we're not perfect. I'm available through PMs on the site or on Skype username Saphira251.

*We reserve the right to remove or move a user any time during the tournament.

*There may be additions to these prizes, but these are the minimum.

*If you would like to contribute a prize to the tournament we certainly do appreciate it. But due to there being issues with prizes being given out in the past whatever your offer has to be given to me before it is listed as a prize so that I can distribute it at the end of the tournament. Please PM me about any prizes you'd like to add.

Good luck and have FUN!

Tourney FAQ

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Go to this link http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ent/signup.php
, and click the signup button on the page.

Q: How do I submit a score?
A: The tournament dashboard will automatically save your best score on the file during that round. You can find the dashboard on the left side of the main page.

Q: How will I know what division I have been placed in?
A: Once I have the divisions finalized, you will be able to see your division on the tournament dashboard.

Q: When will I know what division I'm in?
A: We are trying to place people as accurately as possible. Chances are divisions will not be finalized until about a day before the tourney starts. If I finalize them before then I will let you know.

Q: Will we get to see the list of entrants before the tourney starts?
A: Yes, I will put up a full list once signups are over.

Q: Will I be able to see the other players in my division and their scores?
A: Yes, The dashboard will show you all the following information, what division you are in, the current round song, the other players in your division and their scores, where the elimination line is, and you can view the other divisions and the players there as well.

Q: Are we playing new songs?
A: Yes, all the charts being used for the tournament are from the most recent batches and have not been played.

Q: Are you placing us based on our old stats? I haven't played in a while and have had a skill drop.
A: Yes, you will be placed based on your stats. Even if you haven't played in a while and are rusty, there's the chance you will get back up to that level rather quickly. There's time to practice before the tournament starts and the tournament runs for two months. That's a lot of time to regain skill.
